On the flip side of the argument, I don't harass people if auctions get pulled, c'est la vie.
I never fully understand the last minute bid thing, unless its a phone as your bound to be bid up, the main thing what puts me off though is i always forget :)

2. Hi, i sold my fafner head quite recently for £800 on here, just hold out for a while and some nice chap from europe will come along and snap it up, but £700 is giving it away :) also someone on the forum is looking to buy one i believe its 'simondee' though id search the wanted section rather than hold me to that.

3. Hi, personally i love my Ric, no other bass i own or have played can touch it. That said like people say you definetly have to play one first as what i love about it i could easily see someone hating. The main thing to me is the neck and comfort to play (and i play with fingers). The neck is lightening fast and i play with a moving anchor technique. I tend to play over the bridge pup and when i play the E i rest my thumb in the gap between the opening of the pickup surround and rest it on top of the pickup. I dont know if that sounds a little odd but it is incredibly comfortable. With the neck i think the most noticeable thing is that it is the same depth all the way down, at first i just thoguht it felt different and took me a while to work out why but in short i love it :)

With regards to tone i would never discribe the bass as clanky or brittle and thats with an incredebly low action, it is still very clean. I find the tone to be very full and smooth and the bass sounds brilliant with a very slight bit of valve distortion to it.

Hope this was some help

:) To say that was nice would be a very big understatement

5. Hi, i dont now how much interest this will generate here, but im selling my 24inch iMac. It is just over a year old and has 2 years left of apple care, the specs are:

2.8GHz Core 2 Duo Processor
4GB RAM
500GB Hard Drive
ATI HD2600
Apple Care

Im selling as i think one of the new mac book pros would be more convenient for university. I'll try and get some pictures up soon, but the mac is in absolute mint condition. I'd also happily include my versions of logic, max5 and some of the adobe cs4 suite, however the packaging and so on would stay with me.

Im wanting £1200

10. Hi, i never thought id consider selling this head, but the one thing i would sell it for has just come up (Trace Elliot V8). I bought it new from reverb at the begining of december and its only being used at home as im yet to get chance to gig it. The head is in mint condition aside from a VERY minor bump on the top left corner which is pictured. Im looking for £850.

11.
Decent 8-strings are far and few between. Only the Dean model is easily available in this country. I find it a bit generic, although it is the standard by which I judge all other 8-strings for sound and playability. If you haven't already, you should try one just so you can compare how it to the Shergold and see if you think a second-hand bass is worth twice the price.

Personally I've given up looking for a really good 8-string in the shops/second hand, and will probably have my next one custom built.
Hi to be honest i dont think its worth anywhere near the value simply because i could get an 8 string rickenbacker for not much more than that price and be a very happy man. It was a great playing bass and up to £500 id buy it straight away but otherwise i think im just going to have to look for something a little better value for money. Ive spent all night trawling through the night and im shocked as to how few 8 strings there actually are and if i had the money id arrive at the custom conclusion too.

I've emailed warmoth and going to see how much they charge for a 8 string neck and if its not too much i think that may be the way to go for me. Aside from that i thin i may have to route out the dean like you say though from my experience with them im not a fan. I was looking at the ESP Ltd and Schecters aswell but my main concern is it seems to have become a metal gimmick when they are really great sounding basses and surprisingly easy to play :/
