  1. FENDER BASS VI with 1963 Neck So, let's make it clear from the start. This is a parts bass, but surely a high quality one and probably a "unique parts bass", assembled around an original 1963 neck and with mostly original or reissue US-made components chosen to have the most convincing Fender Bass VI replica. Having been in search for a not-so-expensive original Bass VI for years, I happened to find a 1963 neck in truly Excellent condition, probably the only original 60's standalone neck sold during the last 10 years. The price was high, because adding to the asking price the shipping costs and customs taxes (I bought it from the USA, as most of the other parts) it reached a shocking sum, but I saw it as one of those chances that happen once in a lifetime. The neck was sold with its serial number plate, so I bought a set of new period-correct Kluson single line tuners and coupled the neck with a black reissue body (it probably came from a Squier Vintage Modified Bass VI), a WD Music tortoiseshell pickguard, three Fender pickups that I had rewound to the original values and with staggered poles just like the 60's originals, CTS pots and switches with a couple of original 60's knobs. The chrome plates are US-made Fender reissues, with a Staytrem tremolo arm. The bridge that you see in the pictures is also a Staytrem with 7.25" radius, but I also include an original 60's Fender bridge (as used on the Jaguar and Jazzmaster, with threaded height adjustable saddles) with its floating mute. All these parts were bought from US sellers. Furthermore, the bass is housed in an original 60's Italian Fender case (as you may know, Fender guitars and basses were sold with no cases in many European countries and were equipped with locally made Fender-branded cases). The bass also comes with an original Fender Bass VI Owner's Manual, rare as hen's teeth, no need to add. Everything is in exceptional condition, bought in 2018-2019 and mostly played at home. The only defect is a paint chip under the bridge, caused by my attempt to enlarge the hole for the mute plunger and spring. You can see it in the pictures attached. The neck has been played very little and has no marks, with the frets still having a long life left. The back of the headstock has some very nice checking on the nitro finish. The bass weighs exactly 4 Kg and it's perfectly balanced with no neck dive. It's currently strung with roundwound Fender 100-024's, offering a rich, powerful and well balanced sound. The action is medium-low (around 1.8mm on the 6th string at the 12th fret) with no buzz, the truss rod works perfectly. The dark green case has a crack on the top side, but perfectly protects the bass. It's very light, the yellow plush lining is in nice condition and the metal feet, hinges and latches are all present and working. I'm selling this a bit below my purchase cost just to fund essential home expenses, so I'm sorry but the price is not negotiable and I'm not interested in trades. The price is surely high, but please compare it with current prices for 60's Bass VI's (around 6000 USD) and reissues such as Customs Shop's (3500-4000 USD), Japan-made replicas (around 2500 USD), current production Mexican made Pawn Shop and Vintera models (1200-1500 USD). I only accept a bank transfer payment. The bass is in Italy and will be shipped with courier, preferably to EU countries (just to avoid many customs documents, higher costs and longer delivery times). The shipping price is approx. 100 Euros to EU. Price £ 2600 GBP = € 3000
  2. https://www.ebay.com/itm/135769928993 The same bass is continuously relisted and sold. The price is surely tempting and many people are following these Buy It Now sales, it appears that many of them fell into the trap, as the seller has sold seven of them in the last few weeks. The pictures are always the same, the descriptions identical, even the serial is always the same. My advice: avoid!
  3. Still available for sale Here is an official Sandberg video to show how this particular model sounds:
  4. I was asked about the bridge adjustment capabilities. Compared to a Fender-style bridge, this may seem complex, but it just needs a few minutes to understand how it works and to achieve a perfect setting. The bridge may resemble those used on Steinberger or Status headless basses, with individual sliding saddles that can be moved back and forth by hand to reach the perfect intonation and then locked in place using one of the five hex screws on each saddle. Three other screws are to adjust the height of each string, the fifth screw is used to lock/unlock the horizontal movement of the saddle insert to adjust string spacing.
  5. NOW SOLD Selling a Sandberg VT4 California II bass, made in Germany in 2018, the latest model in a nice matte blueburst finish with maple neck and fretboard with block markers and black hardware. Ash body, satin finish with visible wood grain.
  6. Fender Standard Precision bass, made in the USA in August 1983 * NOW SOLD*
  7. Just had a very smooth dealing with Douglas, who bought one of my basses. He was friendly and absolutely cooperative in every aspect. A pleasure to deal with! Ciao from Italy Augusto
  8. Hi, the pickups are the original no-logo Alnico 5 model that Sandberg uses on many basses
  9. The neck (with chrome tuners) and loaded body can be sold separately, for anyone interested. I have tried the neck on my other Sandberg bass (California VT) and it fits perfectly, so I guess they are easily interchangeable. The width at the heel is 64mm.
  10. 2018 Sandberg TT4 Fretless bass (original lined fretless, not defretted) with satin natural ash body, rosewood lined fretboard. and chrome hardware. THE BASS IS NOW SOLD
  11. Now on hold, pending payment
  12. THE BASS IS NOW SOLD - Thanks I'm selling my Status S2000 5-string fretless bass made in 1989-90, one of very few made in this series. This was bought here 4 years ago and just sold because I have other basses and can't keep all of them.
  13. The bass has been sold. Thanks to you all for your support!
  14. NOW SOLD Hi everyone, I have just put on sale my 1980 fretless Wal Pro bass. The bass was bought last year with a strong financial effort to buy it and have it restored, but things change and I'm now forced to sell it. 15. I sold one of my basses to Keith. The payment was quick, communication was friendly and, despite a strong delay during the shipment, he was patient and supportive. A real pleasure to deal with! Ciao from Italy Augusto
  16. The bass is still available. I asked my luthier to check if it can be reverted to fretted and he said it's a rather easy job that will cost around 200 Euros, but I think that every potential buyer will decide to have it done by his own luthier.
  17. I bought a Fender bass bridge from Rich. It arrived safely and exactly as described and pictured. Thanks!
  18. Sadly these basses don't seem to have the recognition they deserve... Price lowered (for the last time) to £ 1000 or Eur.1160 Thanks for yout interest
  19. I forgot to add that this bass uses regular single ball end strings that are cut on the bridge side
  20. PRICE LOWERED TO £ 1000 + shipment Up for sale my NS Design Cr4 Radius fretless bass. As many of you may certainly know, NS Design is the last creature born from Ned Steinberger's fertile mind. These instruments show many of the technical innovations that Steinberger introduced in his products since the 80's. Gone are the rectangular shaped plastic made basses of his early years, now all the Steinberger-designed instruments are made of lightweight woods but coupled with headless design, quick mount bridge/tuners, active electronics with EMG and piezo pickups. This particular model is the top of the range in the Electric Bass production of NS Design, and is built in the Czech Republic (whereas the cheaper WAV models are made in Korea). It was an early production model, with 2xx serial number, probably made around 2015. The active circuitry includes two especially designed EMG X pickups and a piezo into the bridge. The controls are Master Volume, EMG/Piezo balance, Treble and Bass EQ, with two 3-position switches for the EMG pickup selector (Neck / Both / Bridge) and the Piezo pickup equalization (Bass boost / Standard / Treble boost). The circuit is supplied by two 9V batteries. The body has a particular curved shape, which allows a perfect contact to the player's body on the back and an excellent ease of play on the front. It's made of maple with flame top. The colour is Charcoal Satin, which is a dark grey. The bolt-on neck is made of maple with carbon fibre core and an ebony fretboard. The newly designed bridge/tuning assembly allows for a very quick change of the strings. By the way, the bass uses standard (single ball end) strings. Dimensions (data taken from NS Design site) are: Overall Length 41.5", Body Length 20.8", Neck Scale 34", Neck Radius 15", Bridge Spacing 19mm, Nut Width 1.60", 12th Fret Width 2.19". The bass has been professionally defretted by the original owner, has a medium low action and is currently strung with roundwound strings (a set of little used flatwounds is supplied) with minimal fretboard wear. The truss rod works perfectly. The instrument is very light (just 3.6 Kg) and perfectly balanced. It's a pleasure to play, being very compact and well shaped. The average price of this model is over £2000, I'm selling it at a much lower price due to the fact that it has been defretted (but very easy to restore to the original fretted state if desired). I'm only selling it because I have far too many instruments and I stopped playing due to the pandemic and don't know if I'll start again. The instrument was bought from the original owner (I was the second owner) and only has some light marks and dents. The previous owner only used for home recordings, since I bought it it has never left my home, so it has virtually never gigged. The original gigbag is supplied along with the user's manual and Allen keys. You can find many videos around showing how these basses play. I'm sorry I can't supply any recordings. The bass is located in Italy. Shipped with courier to EU destinations, the price is around Eur.50 but ask for confirmation. I can also ship to UK buyers, but please notice that there will surely be customs charges for you to pay. GBP 1200 / EUR 1400 GBP 1100 / EUR 1280 LAST PRICE REDUCTION: GBP 1000 / EUR 1160 + shipment Payment with Bank transfer only, no Paypal. No trades, please. For any other information, please ask.
