1. Hello there,

I'm selling my E-MU 0404 PCI internal soundcard as I've upgraded to Win7 and they don't make Win7 drivers for it...

It worked perfectly on my old PC (WinXP) but unfortunately is of no use to me now... I paid £95 for it a few months back, so would be looking for around £65 (now £40!) I suppose. I'll get pics up when I'm back home, but it's boxed with the drivers and all the extra bundled software.

Here's what E-MU have to say about it: http://www.emu.com/products/product.asp?product=10447

Feel free to PM me with any questions you may have. I'm in London but could bring it to Hertfordshire in a few weeks time or could of course post it to anywhere in the UK for cost of postage.

    Cheers,

    Tom

  2. Hey guys and girls,

So... I've recently bought an Aria TAB66 (my first ever bass-related impulse buy) and although it sounds and looks lovely I just don't think it's the one for me... It's just not my ideal 'transition' to four strings, as much as I'd like it to be, as it looks and sounds lovely.

It's in perfect condition and has a great variety of tones, from a huge, thick, bassy, woody tone with the neck pup soloed, to a growly, midrange-heavy snarl with the bridge soloed. It's got a very fast neck, but with my huge hands and penchant for 5 strings it just feels a little cramped for me. I've now bought it's replacement (WeirdWar's old jap P bass) which has a neck like a baseball bat, much more to my liking!

I don't think I'm looking to trade for a bass now, definitely interested in trades/part exchange for a valve amp of some kind (ideally trace elliot V or *valve series) and would potentially be willing put some cash your way, but would most of all like at least some of the money I spent on it back. I bought it brand new about 2 months ago and it's never been gigged. In fact, it's only been played in my bedroom!

I'm now after around £320, but feel free to make me an offer... She's just sitting in the corner of my room all sad in her gigbag.

So I've had a quick look online and there's quite a variation in price from £379 up to £439 (here http://www.guitarandampshop.co.uk/acatalog...ustic_Bass.html and here http://www.reidys.com/index.pl?submit=View...riceComparison) so have reduced my asking price accordingly.

  3. Hmm, maybe. I've had that same side cut out before (once, ages ago), dropped it on my bed from 6 inches or so up and that seemed to cure it... Would make sense eh? Would a dry joint cause it to distort the signal or would it most likely just cut out?

  4. Hey,

I'm using my AH600 (when it's working) with a peavey 210 and peavey 410. Both are fairly heavy but both sound good, are cheap (each around £100 secondhand) and they allow me a nice modular setup:

    small gig = 210

    medium gig = 410

    big gig = 210 + 410.

    Sorted!

I s'pose I have the added bonus of both being 4 ohm cabs running into separate power amps on the AH600, thereby getting full power from each of them whatever I'm doing.

  5. Hello chaps,

Hoping you can offer me some advice on this...

I've had an AH600SMX for a good few years now, recently noticed that one of the power amps is distorting. I've changed leads and speakers and it's still there on the right output. Left is clean as a whistle but the right is distorting the signal. It's quiet when I'm not playing anything, i.e it's not making noises when it shouldn't, just the wrong noise when I play.

Any idea what it could be?

If so, roughly how much do you think it'd cost to get fixed and where could I get it done?

    Cheers!

    Tom

  6.
Isn't the 600SMX 2x300w per channel and does not bridge?
Yep. 2x300 @ 4 ohms each. So you may only be getting half(ish) the power out of each of those power amps anyway. Assuming the bagends are 8 ohm?

  7. Hello,

my housemate james is selling a stagg for £230, he's got it advertised on here http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=55033. I can vouch for him and it. Give him a shout if you're after one for a high C conversion, he's got bills to pay! :)

  8. Hello there,

I've had the EDB since late February last year. It's been great fun messing about with it, I've done a little bit of recording with it but never gigged it. So now, I'm finally going to take the plunge and get a big old wooden double bass. Unfortunately, that means this'll have to go to help with the funding of said woody beast.

It's in perfect condition and comes with the rather plushly lined Stagg case (one of the plastic end bits has come off the zip on the case - the only casualty).

I'm after £250 for it. Due to it being a big long thing I'd rather it was picked up, I'm in Tooting SW London but travel back home to Hertfordshire one weekend a month or so. I could drive a bit for petrol money.

But if you really want it posted I'm sure we could come to some arrangement.

I'll put up some pics when I get home. In the meantime I've got a little bedroom recording of me playing it (with the active bass control rolled all the way off) on the Stagg thread: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=6749&st=60 that page, Post #72.

    Cheers!

    Tom
