1. Someone mentioned here recently that Audacity can be used to isolate bass tracks - can this be done with mp3s, or do you neded a .ogg file derived from say, RockBand? I realise I could use the graphic eq and maybe filters to reduce the level of other instruments, I'm just wondering if there is a better way?

thanks

2. no, the usual VVT setup. It has screw holes for the pickup cover drilled, but none fitted - there is no bridge cover fitted nor any holes. Someone may have fitted that beforeyou got yours. It has a gold fender logo with black bordering to the script letters.

Note - my 62 Ri also has a hole drilled on back of headstock for a strap button, but no actual button fitted. That may be a clue. If not present on yours, maybe its a regular jazz?

pics attached

3. Fortunately mine came correctly set - :)
Do you mean the tuners wobble perpendicular to the headstock (in their sockets) or that hey move along the line of the headxstock?
If the former, OldGit mentioned a fix with slices of coke can?

Btw - I put copper shielding tape in mine and its very quiet

Doh - sorry - I just extracted the audio to mp3!

E, E and B respectively.

I wasnt - I did get Dmans mp3 files to work, but none of these here.

6.
Sure, I got a nicely battered MIJ Jazz about 18 months ago, back when the pound bought a lot of Yen.
He's called David and is a Kiwi living in Japan.
He packs for armageddon and you get exactly what he says - and he does about 40 pictures of everything he sells on his auctions showing all the blemishes and any strange bits.

I'd certainly buy from him again.
I own this bass now; its a 94 and has a mint (as in colour) scratchplate. I can confirm that whilst your back of heel decals look right when compared to mine, my headstock decal is much more detailed. Can I suggest that the neck has been refinished and this is a replacement logo decal? Mine also says "offset contour body" and "Jazz Bass ELECTRIC BASS" - the "Fender" decal is gold
