My audacity install isn't showing me a graphic eq - just play, stop etc and some editing stuff like zoom and time tools - rest is greyed out
-
Someone mentioned here recently that Audacity can be used to isolate bass tracks - can this be done with mp3s, or do you neded a .ogg file derived from say, RockBand? I realise I could use the graphic eq and maybe filters to reduce the level of other instruments, I'm just wondering if there is a better way?
thanks -
no, the usual VVT setup. It has screw holes for the pickup cover drilled, but none fitted - there is no bridge cover fitted nor any holes. Someone may have fitted that beforeyou got yours. It has a gold fender logo with black bordering to the script letters.
Note - my 62 Ri also has a hole drilled on back of headstock for a strap button, but no actual button fitted. That may be a clue. If not present on yours, maybe its a regular jazz?
pics attached -
I have a cij 62 ri also and its original sunburst finish (cellulose?) has mojo. I have a quote for a respray from a reputable workshop but they spray polyester/polyeurethane.
Does anyone think the value would suffer much? It is otherwise completely original -
Squier VMJ, and its under budget by quite a long way if you shop around.
I had that with an old desk and old computer. I don't get it anymore.
Wrist pad and mouse pad made a world of difference to me. -
Saw him play nottingham once , in a band called vinny peculiar
-
Yes if its a vintage one - I have never bothered - just di it slowly and let it settle each time. Check your tuning after each 1/8 turn

Short term _ You could try ibuprofen as this has an anti inflammatory effect - also consider buying a wheat bag.
Really need to solve why this is happening though -
Not tried yet - time pressures
Will have to sit and figure chords first (I am a learner!) -
Fortunately mine came correctly set -
Do you mean the tuners wobble perpendicular to the headstock (in their sockets) or that hey move along the line of the headxstock?
If the former, OldGit mentioned a fix with slices of coke can?
Btw - I put copper shielding tape in mine and its very quiet -
I've tried the latter one of those (fretted VMJ) - its lovely to play and the sound is very deep and funky. The only thing I didnt like was the shiny lacquer on the body.

Cheers,

Doh - sorry - I just extracted the audio to mp3!
E, E and B respectively. -
Thanks - can you give me a clue what key they're in ?

Yes my gear is much better (62 ri jazz cij and a zoom b2) than me - but I'm still learning so will hopefully grow into it
Works ok for me. I presume you are accepting the terms. and putting an email address in. i have mine opening in iTunes.
I wasnt - I did get Dmans mp3 files to work, but none of these here. -
How much is a nice condition cij jazz actually
worth ? Just wondering .. -
I'd search for "completed listings" on Ebay if I were you.
Sure, I got a nicely battered MIJ Jazz about 18 months ago, back when the pound bought a lot of Yen.
He's called David and is a Kiwi living in Japan.
He packs for armageddon and you get exactly what he says - and he does about 40 pictures of everything he sells on his auctions showing all the blemishes and any strange bits.
I'd certainly buy from him again.
I own this bass now; its a 94 and has a mint (as in colour) scratchplate. I can confirm that whilst your back of heel decals look right when compared to mine, my headstock decal is much more detailed. Can I suggest that the neck has been refinished and this is a replacement logo decal? Mine also says "offset contour body" and "Jazz Bass ELECTRIC BASS" - the "Fender" decal is gold -
well, speaking as a CIJ jazz owner in regulation sunburst, I probably am conservative. It may be that most basses are recorded without obvious sound effects and so that sound is strongly associated with that instrument, I suggest this is less true for guitars.
However if someone lent me a Charvel, or a Wal, or a Warwick I'd have no qualms trying it. -
I'm still stupid - I just get "error" when I try those youtube links on page one with webpage Online FLV to MP3 converter
help? -
Thanks very much
-
i may be stupid - how do I get the sound only from off of youtube? soimeone earlier referred to downloading it?
