1. I'd be happy to trade it for an electric guitar.
2. Up. Available for trade. I can top it with a superb Pre Gibson signature 6 Tobias for a high value bass around 6K€, only in 6 strings.
3. Lovely bass still for sale. A potential buyer cowed.
4. Superb Pedulla Thunderbass 6. This 6 strings is a beast. Its playability and its sound range are flawless. Its definition and articulation are exactly what you could expect from a Pedulla, and a little better. The more you hit it, the more it growls. Through all the fretboard, the dynamic and natural compression are subpar and allow you to play absolutely anything with instant satifaction. One of the most balanced sounds and playability I've known. The mark of instruments that aged very well. I sell it to finance a bigger investment, and as it was my last acquisition, it is the first to leave the collection. I believe it will turn someone really happy. Some specs: - 17,5mm at the bridge - 24 frets, 34' - neck thru - body: veined flamed maple - neck: 3 pieces hard maple - fretboard: ebony with lighter shades (beautiful) - Bartolini humbucker pickups - Pedulla preamp: vol, balance, tone, and a 'Thunderguts' switch that adds a significant boost to the mid frequency, which is ideal to cut through the mix whenever it is needed (a gospel choir, a loaded mix...) - lightweight: between 4 and 5 kilos (my balance is not fine tuned for this weight range) - truss rod - Pedulla bridge forged with Sherman M4 tank steel I'd say - bone nut - built in the US, in 1995 - original Pedulla flightcase - radius between 14 and 16' I'd say Wonderfully balanced, stiff neck, low action with absolutely no fretbuzz, no deadspot and perfect ergonomic shapes for the belly and the right arm, this bass is a pleasure to play. Its trebles are cristal clear, hifi but defined with no quacky harmonics, and its low B is superb, thanks to ultra dry woods. It is piano-like. Its electronic is quite simple and allows you to get your desired sound under your fingers and let your amp or sound engineer handle the EQ. That way you can focus on your music. You get real neck and bridges sound, thanks to an excellent balance pot and a wide gap between the two pickups. The color is peach. Under day light it is more pink than orange. The profound lacker is beautiful and wears light marks for having been played, but not enough to not state the overall condition is excellent. The bass stands in Lille (FR), the first big city coming from Dover I can send it everywhere in EU. Price: 2000€ // 1410£ I'm ok to lower the price if it sells fast. This is a straight sale. I'm not looking for anything at the moment and need the cash.
5. I've got one, a 6 strings. I've never had such a good intonation before. It is a blast to play, very easy as the left hand falls in place perfectly wherever you are on the fretboard. Fanned frets is something wonderful for fretless instruments.
6. Well I must say I really am. I'll have one question about the electronic, I'll PM you. One of the best instrument I've put my hands on so far. Congrats for your upgrade choices!
7. That is a beautiful instrument, with a wonderful tone. Get a free bump from me !
8. On Talkbass, some moons ago, someone told: "Fanned frets are the perfect solution to a problem that doesn't exist". With that being said, here are my thoughts. I'm a die-hard FF supporter. And that is because I only play 6 strings, with a lot of chords, arpeggios and verticalities. I've noticed that with this way of playing, the FF offers an excellent harmonic distinction between lower and upper notes. Everything that will alter the natural tone of the instrument (pickups, preamp, amp...etc) behaves better when your low strings are on a 36'-35' pitch and your high ones are on 34'-33'. So I've got one fretted instrument with the 36'-33,5' FF. It has so much expanded my vision of tone that I haven't found yet a standard fretted bass that could give me a similar one. I've sold all my other fretted bass guitars that didn't have a FF system. My 6strings fretless is currently for sell in the classified (hint hint), among other reasons because I can't play it well now I'm used to the FF which is, to my taste, to my opinion and according to my way of playing, far much better. So a fretless fanned frets is currently in construction. And it will be a beast Would the FF system be that good on a 4strings ? I doubt it because you may not often face a situation where you have to chord or arpeggiate as much as on a 6 strings. On a 5, depending of how you play, it is a feature to really consider. A last word on Dingwall: Sheldon is a great guy and knows his stuff. But other masterbuilders do as well and can for a fraction of the price (due to customs, chipment etc.) provide you with an exquisite instrument with a pitch range not as harsh as a Dingwall which is, to my taste, too slanted.
9. Bump. Now with Thomastik Infeld flatwound nickel-plated strings (gorgeous). All the Mââââw you need.
10. Bump for an excellent seller and a beautiful bass. I've put my hands on it and it's a beast.
11. 1980 £ (trade value: 2260£) She's back. I sold it to a friend and got it back for some record sessions. I'm now investing into a new business, so she has to go. Again. What about this bass ? It's Mayones' state of the art. Pristine condition, except for a tiny almost invisible dent on the head plate, always played in non-smoking environments. Sold with a flightcase or a Mayones soft gigbag. Your choice. Weight = a little less than 4kg 34,25' 18mm spacing Woods are : chosen spruce, wenge, flamed maple, chosen hard maple, mahogany, ebony. Bridge and nut are made of ebony. Pickups : Nordstrand Fatstack and individual piezzo saddles. Custom options: pickup cover, ramp, knobs You can hear it played solo: And used in a mix to backup my guitarist endorsement demo: You can visit me in Lille, one of the closest french big cities from UK and try it as much as you want with tea and cookies or beer. I can ship it but it'be better obviously if you could pick it up at my place. Only trade offers I would consider are 6 strings.
