1. Hi, I don't know. It's a good all round metal string designed for 3/4 size basses. Just reading about the strings for NS EUBs on the Gollihur site and it says they are actually Helicores shortened, probably due to the different style headstock. http://www.gollihurmusic.com/product/2194-STRING_SETS_NS_ELECTRIC_TRADITIONAL_FOR_NS_DESIGN_ELECTRIC_UPRIGHT_BASSES_NS610.html
2. I bought these strings new in December. I tried the G for a few hours, the A and E for a couple of days just at home and the D hasn't been opened. I loved this brand on a bass I used to have, but they didn't do it for me on the bass I have now. They are versatile, good for pizz and arco and they have a nice growl to them. They are medium tension. Christian McBride uses them and Patitucci was a past endorser. Price £55 including UK postage.
3. NB PRICE NOW £125 COLLECTION OR CAN POST IN UK FOR £25 This is a great no-frills speaker, bought new in 2010. I've used it for double bass and on bass guitar for smaller gigs and rehearsals. It sounds loud, full and defined. I now use a Wizzy 10 which is lighter and more neutral sounding. It is very solidly built, in great condition and very easy to carry with one hand using the built in handle. This is the 4 ohm version rated at 300 watts with a single 1/4'' socket. I can throw in a speakon to 1/4" jack. Full spec: http://www.edenamps....cabs/EX112.html The only thing I'd be interested in trading it for is a 4 ohm Wizzy 12 M line. Collection from north London (East Finchley) close to M1 and north circular A406.
4. NB Price now £175 I'm selling this US made Eden cabinet which I bought new in the late 90s from the Bass Gallery in Camden. It sounds absolutely superb - plenty of bottom but with great clarity. It was an industry standard for years. The cab has served me well on function band gigs but my work is now mainly small clubs in central London. It's rated at 350 watts and has never been pushed with that amount of power. The cab is in great shape, solid as anything with no tears in the carpet. Full spec here: http://www.edenamps....bs/D210XLT.html Please note the model I am selling is US made and has 1/4" and banana plugs, not speakons, otherwise the same. I am happy to throw in a speakon to 1/4" cable. Collection from north London (East Finchley), close to the M1 and north circular A406. Sorry no trades.
5. For sale, this set of Zyex medium tension double bass strings. I've used the strings for two weeks, gigged them a couple of times but decided to go back to Evah Pirazzi mediums. There are plenty of posts online about these strings, describing them as a cross between Evahs and Spirocores. They have a comfortable tension but the bow response was too scratchy for me on my bass. I play jazz and occasionally classical. Everyone's experience will be slightly different of course. £55 including UK postage.
6. For sale, this set of Evah Pirazzi Weich double bass strings bought new at the end of October. The strings have been carefully installed and wiped down with cloth each time after playing. I've used them for two weeks, gigged them a couple of times but I've decided to go back to the medium tension set which I've used for a few years now. The standard set has quite a beefy tension but I do appreciate the extra volume on acoustic gigs. These are the Weich set which have a light tension. According to some string shops and online forums, these are the more popular set. £55 including UK postage.
7. I'm selling this beautiful Kinal MK-5B 5 string, hand built for me by Canadian luthier Mike Kinal (kinal.com) to the same specs as the one that got that amazing review in Bass Player magazine some years ago - scan attached. I have the bass at home and you can buy directly from me for £850. It was for sale at the Gallery before. The specs: 35 inch scale, 24 frets, adjustable string spacing from 16.5mm up with string through body option, pau ferro board, 5-piece maple neck with purpleheart stringers and graphite reinforcement. Alder body with quilt maple top and matching finger ramp, bookmatched electronics cover, birdseye maple facing on the back of the headstock for added stiffness, etc. Bartolini soap bars with 18 volt preamp, coil taps, mid switch, Hipshot hardware, etc. Serial number MK84, 12 years old. It comes with a hard case. This is a top quality instrument in very good condition, comparable to a Sadowsky or Lakland. It has amazing tone and sustain, and a great low B. It plays great and balances very well. After meeting Mike to discuss specs, I am now playing another Kinal, hence my reason for selling. I've attached pics and a layout of the electronics. Let me know if you're interested.
