Just bought one today.
Looks good, plays beautifully and sounds amazing.
Will have to see how it settles in to my pantheon.

I use a zoom q2n for our gigs.
its just really convenient and easy.
i power it with a usb battery pack as it eats AA batteries.
video quality is fine and the audio is a huge step up from phone cameras.
you need to make sure you have the mic sensitivity set right to avoid clipping.
heres a link to our YouTube channel recorded with the q2n.

My band bring our own wonderful PA, me and the guitarists just bring pedalboards.
sounds perfect and we split the carrying. We only do gigs where we can use our PA.

I put a glockenklang preamp in mine, it has really opened up the tones.
much more clarity and variety.
i don’t care for the bridge pickup and may replace it but the neck p bass pup is lovely.

My band already told our most regular venue well play for free when gigs are back on.
We really want to support them.
we all work and play for fun but the pub rely on the income to pay wages.

Black star fly is a wonderfully simple and cheap option.
Great little amp that runs on AA batteries with an aux in and headphone out.
they even do a Bluetooth option.
i use the guitar one for bass but there is a bass specific one.

Must have been sold or withdrawn very quickly

i was reading this thinking “hmmm, very nice and very cheap”
then noticed in the description that the serial number has been scratched off!
Dodgy AF!!!

I had a deco one for £45 ish.
really decent bass for the normal price, everything was fine, just a bit lacking in character.
A nice bass but not on I could love.
if anyone wants to keep an eye open for the deco guitars it’s on Thomann website under accessories/decorative instruments.
there haven’t been many on For a while but they usually have a few every day.
ive bought a few deco guitars, always been in perfect condition or with easily sortable issues like needing a new tuner.

Never guessed she had it in her!

I’m the bass player so punters aren’t allowed to speak to me even if they were inclined to do so.
Even if they were allowed, nobody would have noticed us bass players anyhoo

Yamahas are always good solid basses.
good choice

I know this is a very heretical opinion, but I don't like Bass as a solo or lead instrument (either electric or DB). A few bars of breadown with the drums maybe, but nothing further.
I couldn’t agree more !

What's your thoughts on this one then? ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
To be fair, hasn’t ruined it!
reasonably sympathetic to the source material.
As remixes go, half decent.
Too many beeps, squeaks and embellishments for my tastes, stifles the enjoyment of the original instruments.
I like things simple and guitar based.
(and with much bass obviously).
I’m very glad we live in a varied world though. -
I don’t think I’ve ever heard a remix that didn’t ruin a song!
Loved U2 in that era.
all down to what sort of music we all like.

Travis and Coldplay have written some great songs (Keane, not so much 😂), in what is obviously many people’s opinion, if not yours. Much as I love Prog and some jazz fusion etc, a good song trumps most things in my book. Of course YMMV, as may your idea of a good song. 😉
Melody and structure, key to wide appeal.
you can play as many notes as you want and as wonderfully as possible but without great melody and structure to hold it all together it’s wasted effort , in my humble but most opinionated opinion.

I’m using my line 6 firehawk at the moment, only because I have one anyway and it works!
bluetooth steaming from my phone and good bass amp models on it to download.
There are loads of options out there, all good.
I previously used the Blackstar Fly. Sounds great with headphones.

Lasted 30 seconds till my ears bled from the guy at the front blowing in a tube.
Never understand the appeal of Vulfpeck.
