Live too, really? I was thinking the NEO Combo at home and the ABM 500 with the ABM 610 live but yea, maybe the combo and another NEO cab would do. I'll find out soon^^

Hello there! I wonder if anyone had a chance to play or at least hear one of the new Ashdown ABM NEO combos? There's a 210 and a 115 version available now, along with some 210, 408 and 115 extension cabinets - All made in the UK! On paper, the ABM NEO C210 looks like the kind of thing that would work nicely at home, perhaps even on a gig (with a second cab) but what does "very special light weight power section" mean now? Does it work? [b]Does she bang?[/b]

Luckily I don't need 12 volts. I had a Markbass Compressore but 600mA at 12V is just impracticable on a pedal board. I also LOVE the tone of my EBS MultiComp so I wont go anywhere else from here.

I cannot believe this thread doesn't exist already. I've got this Gretsch G6119B Broadkaster Bass with a custom black finish, custom wiring and it's strung very low: BEAD/65-130 gauge. I got this at a very nice price and I'm really happy with it. The sound and feel of this instrument is very special. It's got a natural midrange growl and a nice full, thumpy low end. Never heard something like it before. Of course it's big, huge in fact but I don't mind bending over backwards to be able to play it. I wont be found dead without this somewhere near me. What's your Gretsch bass? Whip it out!

Yes it doesn't come cheap but considering how much money I've wasted on 9V blocks and cheaper supplies already, it might put an end to this quest! You were at the Messe? Hello Basschat people! Name's Sven, I started playing bass some 15 years ago... Geez, I just realized that. I've never played professionally because I've worked in the industry and I know those poor bands really have no choice but to start smoking crack in order to make it through those touring days. (I love the fact there is a pirate smiley available.) I have a thing for vintage hollow body basses, something about that tone is directly wired to the pleasure center of my brain, I think. Effect wise, I'm using EBS pedals, love them, they never fail and they sound perfect to me. My amplification of choice would be GK lately, the hybrid heads are hot, got some NEO212 cabs with them and got no more trouble at all. Can I be helpful to this forum? Yes sure, I can ask astoundingly stupid questions you have to see before you can die. Sometimes I have a bright moment and tend to prove to be useful in terms of problem solving with a touch of simplicity. That's that.

I would make sure it says "Regulated" on the box. EBS pedals don't fluctuating power supplies at all.

Put an EBS ValveDrive in front of your amp. She's gorgeous and now comes with a DI out, too.

Hello Basschat people! I've perhaps read hundreds of stories about people getting into fights with sound engineers about not getting their cabs mic'd or sometimes even being forced to bypass their entire signal chain because the guy prefers a clean bass tone. So far I've gotten away with murder myself but to make things easier for everyone, I want to optimize my DI signal so no matter where I go, I am happy to give them that one DI slot and I know it's gonna be MY sound. So much for the story. Now, I happen to like some grit, with a lot of clean tone blended in, but she sounds dark and scratchy, plus the preamp tubes are SO very close to breaking up as well, I just really dig that sound. When the grit is off I sometimes use an octave pedal but that wont be an issue here. The signal chain is: Bass -> EBS MultiComp -> EBS FuzzMo -> EBS Octabass -> GK MB Fusion -> DI and/or Cab So, I've learned about a thing called 5K roll-off, which means everything above 5K will be taken out of the signal, to reduce that shaken bees hive kind of sound over the DI. Now, here's the question(s): The treble control on the MB Fusion is at 7kHz, do you think it's got the right q to effectively work as that kind of roll-off? Do I need to pull the treble ALL the way down or does halfway do it? I'm not that slap kind of dude so lows, low and high mids are more my thing anyway but I do not happen to have a PA system at home to test it. Maybe one of you guys does know this gear and can enlighten me about it. Maybe it's just an incredible quest, too but I would at least like to try. It would be great to get this working at it is a super light weight setup and the stage and FOH sound would be the same. Happy Friday! :-)
