1. playablilty ? ....ok, imho the fact that they are slab-bodied gets some used to, the neck should be 'hard work' (at least compaired to a jazz) and tone-wise it's a bit limited - hey, it was designed in '51.

....but after all that , it's well worth it !

  2. Nice looking bass - price is probably about right given the rarity and condition. And more than likely, like the majority (well, mine at least) of mid-late 70's lefty p and j basses will weigh a ton !!!

Go for it - great basses and it's value will only increase !

  3. Just a quick heads up on a hand made EB3 copy for all us poor southpaws...

    ....lefty eb3 !

This listing has nothing to do with me !!!

  4. I'd like to stick up for the Crown !!!!

I've used an XS500 as a power amp behind a number of pre-amps (ampeg, line6, behringer etc) through a variety of cabs (mark bass, eden, marshall) and have absolutely no issues with it whatsoever, it's a pretty transparent amp so the real colour comes from the pre and the bass.

That said, I've not used it through 2 cabs at once - but imho for the power it supplies and price you can get it for it's a winner !
