1. Hi all saw him (and met him) when he was with SLF doing a TV thing at London Weekend. Always preferred Jam stuff, but he was using a P bass of some sort at that time it deffo had maple f.board and I think was black or burgundy colour. His playing was fantastic, never over egging, always playing for the song. A true British great of bass, one of my heroes
2. Hi Jazzbass, just sent you a PM. Cheers
3. Hi again actually just re-read your post. When you start things off by saying 'As I have to fight with two guitarists'....... well, it doesn't look good right from the get-go, to be honest. A couple of the guys have already alluded to this but dare I say you might need a political, rather than a technological solution. Good luck with that mate.
4. I bow to the technical expertise above. For what it's worth, I played in a 6 piece band (guit, drums, vocals, me, 2xhorns), and preferred to stand next to the guitarist on stage. I got the sound guy to make me a long speaker lead, good quality cable with Speakon plugs each end. That way, I could keep my amp just behind me in case I needed to fiddle, but the cab was on the other side of the drums. It sounded better with mine and the guitarists cabs/sound either side of the stage rather than next to each other. Worked well for me anyway.
5. Hi Joe, another Joe here. Can you send some pix please? Cheers. PS I was in Newcastle several years back, there was a music shop called 'Spenders' not far from station as I remember - is it still there? Nice guy in there, had a Tshirt with 'Spenders' in the Fender classic type face. Great city, I had a really nice weekend there. Cheers
