  1. Just a feeler for now ... A very special bass in mint (relic) condition. Comes with all the paperwork and original hardcase. Body: Ash Neck: Quartersawn Maple Nut width: 44.5mm (1.75") Pickup: Hand-wound Custom Shop '55 P-Bass Relic Single Coil Color: 2-tone sunburst Finish: Nitrocellulose, Relic Pickguard: Anodized Aluminum Weight: 3.6kg "1957 was a really important year in the development of the modern electric bass. The original Precision bass was released by Fender back in 1951 in its orginal shape, sharing lots of specs from the Telecaster guitar (contour-less body, small headstock, one saddle at the bridge for every two strings and Single coil pickups (one in the case of the bass). The original P Bass was needing some refinements, and these all came in 1957 with the change to a Split pickup wired in Series for a much warmer and punchier sound, 4 bridge saddles and larger headstock. This instrument carefully recreates a bass from 1959 that was made using the non split pickup so it could be considered to be a "transition" instrument. The sound of the original P Bass from '51-'53 was in the mild side of things and then got much beefier in 1957 with the split pickup, but in this case the pickup has been wound recreating a pickup from '55 which definitely sounds fuller and more aggressive than the original P Bass." I don't have soundclips of my own but below is the soundclip of a similar bass in black and rosewood fretboard. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9h5gkupyUI The sound and tone of the bass is very similar to any Precision that has the same Hand-wound Custom Shop '55 P-Bass Relic Single Coil. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SpJPYL_ogA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHt5KF9WnQ8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sV6nzDaPsA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwX5n55MgDw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1q8-FbYazhk
  2. For sale, a very special 2016 Fender Custom Shop 70's Precision Bass Journeyman. Light relic white blonde with beautiful quarter-sawn maple neck with slight flame patterns. Very light, only 3.6kg. Comes with all the paperwork and original hard case. Has the same neck profile as Fender Custom Shop Pino and nut width. Pickup is hand-wound Custom Shop 62 P-bass. So if you GAS for a Fender Pino but the Fiesta Red and Rosewood fretboard is not really your cup of tea - then this is the bass for you! And it is lighter than a Pino too! I'm based in London.

  9. Got this recently, but unfortunately I need to raise fund - so this awesome bass is now for sale. Like new Mike Lull non -reverse thunderbird NRT5 custom. A piece of art, pure vintage sound. Very lightweight under 4kg. Custom 34" scale. With original hard case. In terms of ergonomics, the Thunderbird is similar to other Lull - it feels nicely balance and the design and workmanship are superb. In terms of tone, the pickups give you that awesome and iconic Thunderbird sound. In don't have my own soundclips but the reverse Thunderbird uses the same pickups as Lull's other Thunderbird basses: Of course the Mike Lull made the bass to sound as close to the original Gibson Thunderbird ... ...but without the neck dive which the original Thunderbirds are known to have. You can read more about the non-reversed Thunderbirds on the link below: http://mikelull.com/site/instruments/basses/bass-NRT4_NRT5.html I'm based in London.
