Yes it is cap maple neck - it is a similar process of making maple neck with rosewood fretboard. I believe Fender did this for a short while in the past then reverted back to one-piece maple neck i.e, with [color=#282828][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif]skunk stripe. [/font][/color]Vintage Fenders with maple cap are extremely rare.
So nowadays standard Fender precisions come with one piece maple neck.[color=#282828][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif] But I think you can still get cap maple neck from Custom Shop.[/font][/color]
