Most of my basses have been covered in beer and kebab grease at some point.....i see it as a form of bass initiation

Take the money do the gig and go home.....

I always take a small hand towel to gigs to dry my hands and neck if needbe.

My honest view is that it's their party they can book who they want. If a dj played music would you be offended by that?

The sound person will know all your settings so not an issue but it is courtesy to ask if they want to use your PA rather than just to assume it's okay.

Ultimately you are a service provider and you have agreed to you slot / fee. The PA use should be discussed.

When I got it I thought the pups were weak (Which were not its original pickups) , tried about 5 pairs, nothing over £50, the best one I found for the rear was one from a highway one I had, which sounded far better than in the highway one, (no matter what I put in the highway one it never sounded any good) in the fotoflame it's alive and sort of gritty biting sound.
the neck pick up I have not a clue what it is, but matched with bridge one it adds warmth to the sound, and mellow when soloed, I use this bass a lot now it does what I want it to do, but would like to try some of the top end ones y'all have mentioned just to see, interesting,

My gigging bass is a Precision and i tend to use the Jazz for home recording. My wife bought me the Jazz so i need to persevere with it

No worries. I do most of my own tech stuff so this is one of the things i adjusted first. I just don't seem to get the oomph that qtr pounders should give.

Hi folks,

I want to replace the SD Quarter Pounders in my jazz bass. I find the SDs pretty flat with little punch.

I just wonder what is a good replacement for them?

There are such an array of pups out there that i don't really want to go through try and swap try and swap.

So any suggestions good citizens of BC?

Looking again the headstock is more Washburn than Aria as it's not symetrical.

Lol.....feels like that sometime although to be fair my local delivery people tend to be pretty good. We seem to have the same people making the deliveries in the area so i imagine that improves how they look after the load.

The headstock has a bit of an Aria look to it.

Storm Studios in Holloway Road may have a piano room. Good kit there anyway. May be worth a call.

I'm a bassist that aspires to be a musician. Perhaps one day i will sense when i've crossed that threshold

I can imagine that Lemmy always did the shake n vac with his bass case maybe adding a dab of Febreze for good measure.....lol

I maintain my kit as well as i can and i take with me what i can carry on the Tube or Bus.....which is usually a gig bag and an effects board bag, sometimes a trolley and amp.

I usually travel to rehearsal/gigs on public transport so rarely have any back up. I do thoroughly check over all the gear prior to a gig. I tend to gig one bass my Mex Precision.....and so far touch wood it's all been good

Our band is a collective. Everything equal so we would only expect the person to pay their share. sh*te happens.....next time i may not be able to attend at short notice.
