They really are good instruments.....i think you'll like it! :)

  2. A couple of years before i atarted playing bass my brother took up the drums and started learning his paradiddles. I have been very lucky as my drummer is family and he his very good having had lessons with 3 or 4 different tutors in all styles. I have to say that if for any reason he packed up playing (he suffers from sciatica) then i would very likely pack in playing live too. I hope you manage to find someone and if they're decent you keep hold of them. Good luck in the search.

  3. I had the 305 and was really impressed with the build and sounds available. The only reason i swapped it in was not really using 5s that often.....but i did go for another Yamaha (BB424x). I think the the TRBX's would make a great workhorse bass.

  4. So i gig 4 basses and have decided after much deliberation that i have a "Gig Bass" order of merit.

    1. Fame Deuce Jazz Bass (this has only just moved into top spot)
    2. Fender Mex Precision (Lovely bass but just pipped by the Deuce)
    3. Epiphone Allen Woody (yes you read correctly, never let me down)
    4. Yamaha BB424x (only beaten by the Epi as it's not been gigged yet)
    5. Squier Modded Frank Bello Jazz (my bass for experimentation but not gigged yet and unlikely unless i had too)

So i know lots of people here have lots of basses but do you have an order of merit too?

Can you elaborate, tell us about the tones, the weight, and/or post some pics? You have me intrigued, sir.

Having a few probs posting pics.
The Deuce 4 is a Jazz Bass copy with a 22 fret maple neck, alder body.
It comes fitted with SD QTR pound pups in standard jazz position.
The finish is satin nitro and mine is canary yellow.
I haven't weighed it but it feels a similar weight to my agathis bodied Squier Jazz. If you search the DV247 website they have them in a nice blue colour.

    Hope this helps :)

  6. So BC folks,

My wife bought me a Fame jazz bass about a year back from DV247. These basses are apparently made by Mayones in Gdansk. My question to the world of BC is am i alone in owning one of these instruments or are their others out there who have one?
