  1. once took them 10 days to get a 32 channel mixing desk to us, and that includes the lorry being in a accident that destroyed the first order, which if where honest is not too bad! we put a massive order through every year and never wait longer than 5 days for it to turn up.

all my personal orders also have also come through in 3-5 days

  2. i was given a mic stand with said 'flaccid leg syndrome', i fixed it by putting small rubber washers between the legs and the section they connect to. i'm not sure if the Hercules stands have an Allen bolt you can undo and remove the leg. id hope you would be able to as even the dirt cheap studio spares stands have this. once the washers in tighten up and gives that extra bit of grip to hold them in (dont over tighten as it will just cause the rubber to rip)

For higher gain... I've recently gone back to my Joyo Ultimate Drive. It just works. I was using a Source Audio Aftershock but honestly, I need to edit it too much for what I want... and it can do everything and more, but it's not the pedal to adjust in a hurry. The Ultimate Drive just does it for me. I keep trying other things and going back to it. It's time I admit that it's the sound I want. Again, quite inexpensive.

i love the ultimate drive, went through a period of trying all the cheap and cheerful OD and this worked out as my fav. but i also have the MojoMojo still, and the orange burst by Caline as my spares (Mojo in my gig bag for using at practice and the orange burst at home in case one goes nipple north)

there all good pedals i think the ultimate drive is the best for me. i also got it back when they were about £20 something a real bargain.

That's not a username to be proud of xD

Nice find, cool bass! Those old USA Peaveys are very underappreciated IMO.

TBH its not that bad of an amp! but maybe not good enough to be your username, or to keep, so think i'll be getting rid of it.

i cant complain though i have the user name Laney HCM160 on something as thats the only amp i knew at the time.

  5. Got it home, its definitely a peavey patriot. Its been refinished (very well too), had the headstock sanded and refinished and had a custom pickguard made from acrylic. It also has some questionable wiring done inside!

Needs a clean and a setup but hopefully should play well!

Thanks for all the info on my new bargain!

Does any one know where i can source a black pickguard from or have any information on the type of truss rod wrench is needed to adjust the neck relief? The action is a bit high and needs sorting to be upto my liking

  6. I won this bass on ebay yesterday for £28 comes with a Behringer amp and some bits. my hope was that i was a 80s peavey patriot (been gassing for one fr a while). but i'm not too sure as it seems to have a different pickguard, only a volume control (i'm assuming) and cant see any marking on the headstock. it has the super ferrite PUP and the body looks the same shape but can anyone confirm it is indeed a patriot?

TBH for £28 its not the end of the world if its just some odd bass with a Peavey PUP in it.

off to pick it up this evening!

    cheers!

  7. Telefunken M80 fantastic mic but pricey. also a massive fan of the Prodipe TT1 about £40 and sound great (also get a good reviews from Paul White from sound on sound) the behringer vocal mics are good for the price but we've got some 58's at work that are about 30 years old and still work great. they really are hard as nails. they may sound a bit mediocre but they last!

[Ignorance alert] What do you mean by "Kick In, Kick Out", Russ? [/Ignorance]

means he stands there with the kick mic only putting it in when the drummer hits the kick drum, saves money on buying expensive Gates... at least that's what I've been doing......

  9. i have shimmed a nut before with a bit of business card, just cut to size put under the nut and restring. it was only by a small amount and on a cheapo bitsa but i havent noticed any issues with it slipping.

theres probably better ways to do it but it worked for me!
