Hmm ive played one at Guitar Guitar, and to be honest it was just as floppy as any other Fender 5 string. not sure if its got to do with the way the saw there necks.? it just didn't feel tight and focused like an SR5's B string.

Yes, on reflection I think my statement that they've solved the B is actually wrong. I think I should have said they've solved it on some of the US Standard model Jazz Bass 5s. I've played maybe 5 of them and owned 2. The 2 I owned were great which is why I bought them but the other 3 were lacking. Not necessarily just on the B either. I love Fenders myself, but you definitely need to play before you buy in my opinion!

Have you tried the latest model US Standard Fender Jazz Bass V? They've solved the B issue.

Happy New year - I`ve just re-purchased a white/maple 2008 Precision. I bought it last year, then sold it, and missed it a fair bit. Was actually going to contact the Basschatter concerned and ask if, when he decide to move it on, I could have first refusal but he beat me to it and put it up on here, so I snapped it up. Has a mint green PG - tort usually my fave, but this kindof suits the bass so it`s staying. The 2008 onwards Precisions really are something.

I had the same thing happen with my 2013 Jazz :)

  4. I love the current versions of US jazz basses - the standards and the deluxe models are superb now. You still need to be careful of course but there is definitely better consistency with US Fenders.

I bought a US Standard Jazz 4 string last year, sold it, regretted it, then went back to the music shop where they had three US Standards in stock and none were as good as the one I sold. Thankfully I was able to buy the one I'd sold back :)

Is there any chance this is a US Highway 1 model? That would explain the Badass Bridge, thin Nitro finish and non-string thru body.

If it is, they were super basses in their own right :)

Yes, I reckon this is right :)

  6. I have a number of settings that I know work well together. I use those for live performances so that I 100% know that the set will work but generally, when I'm experimenting at home, I actually like them to clash with different modes, delay/feedback times, etc.

  7. I'm no expert but I guess it's either a pre-2008 US body or a post-2008 non-US body? Looks like a real nice bass. Love the look of the neck.

  8. I've played about a fair amount with the order and I don't think I need a SansAmp, Radial JDI and Aguilar TH. Maybe I'll sell the SansAmp and Radial.
