Do you need to use the shared backline / cabs to get yourself heard, or are they just there for personal monitoring? If the latter, I would consider a powered wedge to place in front of you as a personal bass monitor, if there's usually enough room and time to set it up. You can use the same power source as for the Helix (assuming you're using the pedal version and not the 19" one, and that you're using a power strip on stage).

I think its a mixture of both in some cases and for ease of change overs on the line-ups etc when it's 15 minutes or sometimes less.

  2. Hi all.

I am increasingly doing more originals gigs lately where we are equipment sharing or using house cabs. This means I need a head as I have previously been using an FRFR speaker with a Helix. However I just want a power amp to let the helix do the talking.

Does anybody have any experience with this

It seems to answer all my needs but I just want a second opinion really, or other inexpensive options!

    Cheers.

  3. Hi guys.

I'm currently on the hunt for gigs for an originals band and I can't seem to find any promoters around the area (North West).

Where/how does everyone find gigs for their bands?

I asked my mate about the "unsigned guide" and he said it wasn't worth the pay. Google seems to yield very little and I get no responses from the ones it does show

    Whats the secret?

  4. Hi folks.

I'm expecting a good tax rebate this year and so would like to invest in some moulded in-ear monitors. I've seen these online

However I can't seem to find much information. If anyone knows about these or have any other suggestions for where to look i'd appreciate it. Ideally not looking to go into the really high end of thousands of pounds with this. Have been using cheap shure ones which are okay but I'd like to improve the quality as I feel I will be getting more use from them with upcoming gigs specifically going ampless.

    Thanks in advance.

  5. Sansamp Bass Driver Deluxe

Highly regarded Preamp/D.I, used heavily for the last 3 years on cruise ships and hotels and the odd home gig too. Never missed a beat and sounds fantastic.

With no gigs coming in I'm having abit of a gear clear out with the hope of going ampless and gaining a Helix.

Comes with no box but I'll pack it up nice if you need postage!

    Thanks
