1. ive only been playing bass for around 18 months, played around 15 gigs in the last 12 months with my band The Genetics, this saturday we are supporting Tenpole Tudor at the Shed Weekender at Farcet Fen in Peterborough, hopefully playing in front of a 1000 people, BRING IT ON! why am I shi**ing bricks?
2. im thinking about starting a jazz project, i have a richwood jazz copy and have learned that its got a real wood body, unsure what wood though, good basis for a start, what im after is stripping and taking it down to bear wood and oil or stain it and fit a maple neck, seymour duncan hot pups, and a decent bridge. i will start stripping and sanding the body next week and start posting pics, would love to get the wood back to something like this pic of steves franken p. could someone tell me what basswood is, what sort of finish could i acheive from basswood? This is my first project and if all goes well will do another.

9.
Hello folks, tester before e.bay(which I rarely use as,erm, not keen,to say least). Need to sell a bass before VAT due end of July. God bless Cool Brittania. Photos from crap mobile phone, but get the gist. '93 (O 06***6) MIJ Jazz, rare transluscent cherry red,(including back of neck and headstock) golden hardware/fittings.Believe pick ups to be Japanese vintage Jazz. Very good condition, 3 little dings on back of headstock.Slight dead spot, frets 15/16 D string. Padded gigbag included. Bought it decade ago, original owner brought it back from Japan(he worked for Shell).Told me it was one of a special run made for none export, Japanese retailers. Further reseach( i.e. tapped in FENDER JAZZ, MIJ) brought up a Japanese specialist website, that said CIJ started late '93, after this bass was made. Anyway, because of age/rarity/condition I am looking for £500(please, no price debates, thats what I THINK IT'S WORTH,and this market(hopefully not e.bay) will show me right or wrong). Would consider £100 plus good nick Shaftesbury/Kasuga/Ibanez copy of a bass that began with 4, although that would mean my GEDDY coming on in the near future. If anyone interested, pick up only but will come some way to meet. Any trial preferred, as we all know how personal basses are. I live in Wigan. Finally, please tell me, what do BUMP, and LOL mean? Cheers, Karl.
Bump will bump your post to the top of the pile, LOL means laughing out loud, on here somewhere is full content of computer lingo, gorgeous jazz by the way, not my cup of tea the shape of the jazz but that is nice, there is an ibanez on flee bay now, but read it carefully, starting price is £500, im after one of these myself, anyway good luck with the sale and have a BUMP on me
10.
How much you looking for it?
I would like as close to £200 as possisble, due to its age and condition, it has shaller strap locks on aswell and comes with the fender gig bag which was an optional extra
11. yes its a p with rosewood board, blue in colour, in mint condition, 11 days not a problem, looking to sell before the 3rd july, but not before the 27th of june, like i said its a bit of a feeler, need to find a replacement aswell
12. thinking about parting with my almost new classic vibes 60 , im after a rick clone, always wanted a 4001 / 4003 but cant afford a real one so going to let this go and hopefully find a tokai rockinbetter no crap shines
13. Not sure if ive put this in the right section, but i hope someone could come up with some help. Myband played a couple of gigs at skegness at the weekend, our lead guitarist had a problem with his main guitar after the first night, he decided to have a look at it back at the campsite, with a bit of luck i had taken my soldering kit with me, pluged the soldering iron into a generator and away we went, wire was lose on a pick up switch, he presto , he then decided to check by plugging the amp in, NOTHING! so hes decided to leave it and check it when we get back home and play the next gig (saturday) with his back up guitar, After setting up PA , plugs in his amp and nothing is coming out of it, power is on, Has he damaged something by plugging into a generator? any advise would be appreciated.
14. My fellow band members have asked to try and get some advice on getting a demo cd mixed, anybody know of a good cheap reliable studio with an engineer, around the leicestershire area
15. about £175 ono, condition is excellent
16. to be honest i could do with the money as i have been offered a trace elliot, which is what ive been after for a long while
17. Ive decided to sell my Hartke Ha3500 head as it is to loud for home use, cant even get it up to half a notch without annoying the wife and neighbours. may trade for a decent bass, ie thunderbird or bb series yamaha
18. I bought a squire classic vibes of bass chat a little while back, i have a couple of issues with it, firstly the nut has been modified to get the action lower, unfortunatley its too low for my liking, can anyone recommend a replacement after market one or where i could get one? secondly i have a dodgy volume pot, same thing can anyone recommend a replacement and where to get a pair, is it also best to stick with the std 250k or put 500k pots in? i will be keeping the std pick ups
19. ahh thanks for that! my heads swelling now! where would i get a spare tube,
20. The lads well chuffed , only told him this moring, so hes going school with a big cheesey grin on his face. Now! another silly question, as this is my first valve amp, are they easy to maintain? where do i get some spare valves? and are mullard the best!
21.
I've just received mine today.....OMG it's absolutely out of this world. I appreciate the Marmite taste that can be Hartke, but this amp is superb. Talk about tone shaping, what with the 10 band graphic, blendable valve and solid state, not to mention the contour control - it has totally blown me away. Oh...and now it is coupled with the 2x12 pro series cab, it looks fab....my life is now complete (that is until I stick the Mullard valve my Pops has just given me. Go for it mate, no sound is out of reach with this head.
funny that the chap put a mullard valve in it aswell, cant wait for saturday and blast the lads out at rehearsels lmao
22.
They still change hands (occasionally) for under £200 on Ebay. At this price they're an absolute bargain - one of the best amps ever made IMO. A
just picked one up of e-bay for £150, in mint condition, the chap demonstrated it for me aswell, what a beast, puts my Laney to shame, i will frighten the living daylights out of our guitarists now! lmao My lad will be pleased asell as he will aquire my old set up, not bad eh 10 year old with a 4x10, 1x15 and a 360w head in his bedroom, god help my neighbours
