I just wish they'd produce and ship the products they already have. I gave up waiting for a carbon 2x10 to become available.

Best cab I've owned in 47 years of playing. Sad you didn't get one. I similarly can't get a mesa d350 in the UK till at least sometime next year😥

  2. MXR M80 compressor for sale only.

£90 delivered in the UK. Works perfectly, 2 small marks on paint, see photos. I don't have original box, but will include instructions printed from the internet. Pedal has velcro on the back.

I used to gig my T&B 50 with a homemade (well, actually made in the school woodwork shop) 2x15 cab. I remember taking the bus to Wilmslow Audio to collect the speakers.

I used to gang the treble and bass channels together, probably sounded terrible by today's standards but I thought it was great back then.

    I did the same😁

I’ve got the pickups on the way anyway. As I have a Sadowsky Jazz 5 to compare (it’s bridge pickups is totally quiet with similar shieding). Plus the fact that Warwick changed them, so clearly felt the original pickups weren’t the most optimal. I suspect it’s probably a combination of both.
Yes, it is a 5. If the TIs don’t suit I’ll try out the LaBellas - thanks!

Good luck, they are very nice basses....I have NYC jazz and no buzz, but preamp lookis physically different and is mounted different too.

As I mentioned - the bass is dead quiet when panned to the neck pickup so it’s not a shielding issue. The Jazz I bought has identical shielding (except the metal bell plate). However, as I’m going to need to remember the pickguard and unsolder the pickups to swap them out, I will shield the whole of the cavity pickguard and pickup cavity with copper foil just to ensure consistent shielding across the board. It doesn’t really need it but the HPJ5 is such a wonderful instrument it’s worth it. It will also get some TI flats - my first foray into flatwounds :)

I think the noise you're getting is exactly what I was getting. Only when you intrduce the rear pickup (mixed with P or solo) do you get the buzz. It's the rear pickup cavity's proximity to the preamp I'm sure. Don't think you'll need to swap out the pickup unless for other reasons. You can shield the rear cavity without removing the pickguard....might be wirth a try first. Make sure screening is earthed...I stuck foil to the metal underside of the pickup, didn't need any soldering.

Strings of coarse are personal taste...is your bass a 5 string? I didn't like the TI B string, its a thick old rope with poor definition. I much prefered Labella low tension flats

I've got a D800, which is more than enough for any gig, especially since it goes down to 2 ohms.  The only difference I can see is the D350 only goes down to 4, which is fine for most things to be honest.

Also 4 ohm minimum working....no 2 ohm. It has a bright switch rather than a deep switch, but has usb power outlet

    I'm considering the Baby Sumo:

    https://www.guitarsoundsystems.com/gss-baby-sumo-ampxlite-bass-guitar-power-amp-c2x21844846

Is it fanless? I'd like to know how much the hardware is silet or not when it is turned on.

Also, I'd ike to know (if anyonw knows it) if Tech21 preamp level could be good to properly drive the Baby Sumo.

    Thank you

It is fanless, I have one, nice and quiet for home use. Mesa d800+ preamp di seems to drive it ok. There are 1k and 1.2k versions also available now

  8. I've been using my 210 and 112H for over a year now...one or two gigs a week and haven't had any disasters yet. I do carry in my own car and I'm careful.....I do see why some people are concerned about damage, especially the corners. I just don't know what I would buy if there were serious problems with the construction. I like the sound so much I would be looking at the wood GR bass cabs I think. However, all good so far, you just have to be careful, as I am with my basses.

Many thanks for clearing that up Moscowbass.

Real shame the 1400 DUAL can't run into two 4 ohm cabs giving total 2 ohm load.

Wonder why the 1400 has two 700 W amps while the DUAL version only one 1400W amp? Can't understand the logic there?

So to use both my GR 212 slims, I'll have to stick with my Mesa Subway 800 plus which can handle 2 ohm load, or my trusty Genz Benz Shuttle Max 12.2 which has two 600 W amps!

I also use a subway d800 with a d800+ di just now. Very happy with them. Was looking at the One1400 as a potential replacement for my backup amp, a Baby Sumo that can only run one cab at 4 ohms. The Sumo is great and was bought as a silent no fan amp for use at home and does the job well, but can't run 2 ohms. One1400 can have fans switched off for home use. The Mesa stuff is great, but can't buy them just now due to parts shortage.

The specs on GR and stockists websites are a little confusing for the GR Bass DUAL 1400 head.

It is rated at 1400 Watt RMS into 4 Ohms, but I suspect the unit has two 700 watt into 4 ohm power amps.

I have two GR Bass 212 900 W 4 ohm bass cabs, which I assume would be ideal for this head, but if it were a single 1400 Watt power amp as specs infer I would not risk running into a 2 ohm load.

Can anyone confirm power amp output specs? Cheers

I was mistaken and confused like you. Apparently the duel is a single power amp, 1400 watts at 4 ohms. The One 1400 is 2 separate power amps, 700 watts each at 4 ohms, so can drive 2 x 4 Ohm cabs. I've been looking at this to drive my 4 ohm At210 and 4 ohm At112h

    As per title really

Just mailed trickyaudio and the mail bounced back

Are there any UK based Fearless builders?

    Just testing the water.... :)

    Thank you

    Jon

Guy Trigg from Tricky Audio is on Facebook, you could try there. In my experience, he builds nice cabinets.

What's up with the metal bit holding back the amp? It looks like just enough to wedge it against the top of the guitar stand, or it has a bump inserting into the stand?

It's a mike splitter bar that screws into the threaded insert on top of the stand. Stand height adjusted so bar stops amp sliding off
