1.
If I was in the market for a new jazz sixer I'd be looking at this from Xotic... never played one but think it looks great. To be honest I'd personally try and avoid having two basses instead of a single sixer... I'm trying to get down to carrying as little as possible to gigs. In truth I could get away with a fiver for 90% of what I do with bands, but I do need the high C for a few tunes so I decided that a sixer was the way to go. My aim is to get down to one fretted sixer and a fretless.
I have 2 5 string versions and they are best all-round basses i've played. Again subjective to taste....I'd visit bass direct and try one.

2. I've used rounds and flats on my fretless and prefer rounds, i think you do get more mwah. Both rounds and flats have a nice distinct sound and have a place in different styles of music. I tried half rounds and they went in the bin....sounded like someone's very old rounds that should have gone in the bin many years before.....only my opinion :D
I wouldn't worry too much about the slight marks on the fingetboard, ebony does that as well.

Unfortunately not, i sold it to buy a 75 Jazz, which turned out to be dog....but i was desperate for a Fender at the time. The Jazz went and was replaced by a P that i have just recently sold...had it for 38 years!. The hair is also gone and what's left is grey...lol

4. The 9.0 and 9.2 shuttles are very similar,it was the 6.2 that had the hpf changed from the 6.0. The 9.2 has 3dpm, this is a valve compression emulation on the power amp section. It is said that it's not worth changing a shuttle 9.0 for a 9.2, but the 6.2 has more girth than the 6.0 and is noticeably better. The Shuttlemax is a physically bigger amp with a valve channel and a FET channel
Both channels have the addition of lo mid and hi mid and also tone shaping filters that can be varied in level. The power amp section is the same as the shuttle.

5. I found the Streamliner 900 was too bass heavy and had a mid hole with my Big Baby T, although i liked it with my Midget T. Shuttle 9.0 and Shuttlemax 9.2 are great with both, although i have to use the bass boost with the Midget.

To answer the original question, to counter lots of happy owners who ARE happy with the streamliner.

I sold mine because of it's inherent sound ... ie. it's big heavy bottom, and inherent mid scoop. Yes you can get it almost flat by reducing the bass big time and either scooping it's 220Hz mids OR boosting it's 600Hz mids. But for me that is still too scooped. I like mids and this amp simply doesn't deliver in that area for me. From my memory my cab at the time was a Genz 8x10 XB3, certainly not a mid-shy cab.
The EQ allows you to boost cut either 220Hz, 600Hz or 1500Hz on it's mids control. However, if you boost one of them, I still notice the gap elsewhere.
For many owners this simply isn't an issue as they are looking for a different sound but for me it was a deal-breaker.

+1, says it all

7. For me the iamp micro is one of the worst amps i've owned. Beautifully built, but lacks power....nowhere near 500 watts, it also lacks low end and is mid honky and compresses with volume...in my experience. I'm happy with my shuttle 9 and max 9.2, haven't tried a 6.0, i'm told they also lack a bit of bottom end. I believe the newer 6.2's have the same high pass as the 9.0, so should sound better. The iamp has nice input switching between channels, shame it doesn't sound nice for me, i know others love them.
