A few more amps to consider, Vanderkley aurora , a few excellent reviews . Puma 1000, has anyone compared this to the 900 ? I used to own the 900 , certainly a well made amp but it didn't seem flat enough for my taste. Lacking a bit low bass , HPF too high ? Warwick LWA 1000, spec looks great on paper, class A pre-amp , real 1000 watts . Has anyone tested it ? Couple of new ones coming out soon, Bergantino B-amp, PJB D-1000, Both look like ideal candidates .

I've been using two BB1's and the blacksmith head for the last four years . IMO it's an excellent combination and it still makes me smile when I go out front at sound checks . Need to be a bit careful not to overpower the FOH at smaller gigs . I've never used the Mark bass cabs , so I'm unable to comment on them . Certainly the weight of the barefaced cabs makes life much easier .

Common fault but easy to rectify . The uk distributor usually has them in stock . A couple failed on my blacksmith , a phone call was all it took .

As the QSC power amp is now sold I'm dropping the price to £450 to move this on quickly. Its only one resistor. I use the art clean box pro which has variable gain controls to maximize the headroom of any power amp. Very handy bit of kit ! Absolutely superb bass preamp from one of the coolest named companies.Class A preamp thats capable of overdrive to add some grit without using a valve.
