I keep coming back to look at this. I don’t NEED it, but it sure is purdy!
Haha, that’s exactly where my head is at too when I regularly wonder why it’s even listed 😂
Thanks Warren 👍

Might now also part trade for a Custom Shop Precision, or a US reissue or US Standard Jazz Bass, or Mexican Roadworn or Flea Jazz Bass.

These are pretty rare I believe. Made for the US ‘64 AV reissues I think.
Cheers. For the P it’s the ‘63 AVRI, 2013-17
More often with CS basses I believe.

Please…. No more offers to arrange a courier 😊
I can’t be around for one at the moment - so it’s collection only 😉

Still for sale - collection only

How about £30 for a quick sale?

Lovely bass. Might be worth adding the weight, especially if it’s a light one. Either way, quite the looker and GLWYT!
8.98lbs / 4.08kg 👍
This’ll probably be my last bump for a while as interest might be saturated now. If you come across this advert and you’re interested then please PM.

I’m having the same issue in the Accessories and Other… marketplace 🤷🏻♂️

It's still here because of Brexit, that's all.

Cheers guys.
The market seems so down at the moment. For the last few months I’ve had a great Stratocaster for sale at a really good price and it’s not shifting either, yet would have flown out the door much quicker last year I reckon.
Luckily I’m not financially desperate for a sale, but it’s a real pr*ck tease having a bass here that I love to bits but find too hard to play 😤😂

Looks awesome. Very nearly bought one of these as I have the ‘61 Strat version and it’s great.

I keep coming back to this. My first Stingray was slab bodied, and I ended up getting a 'belly-cut' put in it when I had it refinished, so probably not the bass for me, but it ticks a lot of boxes. I really can't understand why it's still here.
Having contours put in crossed my mind a few times… was never brave enough to do it in the end.
Cheers 👍

Sept update: Due to a pending house move the bass is now in storage in Berkshire, so it will be a while until it is bumped again, I may bump it now and again though. But please direct message me if you find this advert and you’re interested.
£2750 ono- The price on the listing was for when this was a trade only advert.
It’s a 1964 Relic, 1 of 30 made for 2009 release, this one was made in 2008. I have the spec sheet if you need it.
Weighs 8.98lbs / 4.08kg, great balance, very comfortable C shape neck and of course a killer tone. It’s not one of the thicker C shapes that some of the later ones have - this bass uncannily feels just like my old original 64.
All original aside from the tone pot, which is now a series/parallel push/pull switch, gives you an extra fat tone option and loses nothing from the original. Original case and covers too.
No trades please - cash needed for the new home!Unfortunately collection only at this moment.
Cheers

Surprised to see that no one has gone for this beauty yet. £1750? That's almost £1k less than what The Bass Gallery is currently asking for the same model on Reverb (£2720). Great bargain!
GLWTS 👍
Cheers guys, I think I’ll put the price back up as this seems more a reflection on the market than the bass, and I’m not selling for cash flow reasons.
Maybe time to withdraw and relist later in the year? -

Thanks all for your replies.
It's tough trying to find a suitable on-board pre-amp for three pickups. Everything seems to be geared towards dual pickup, which is understandable really.
I liked the idea of stacked vol/tone per pickup, this might be making its way into my ideas box now.
I might look at other makes considering there's not much love here for the Aguilar.
Mark
I didn’t think it should matter how many pickups you have, would be surprised if so, but some folk will have better knowledge of that.
Worth looking at John East preamps, I’ve had a couple of his and they’ve been excellent IMO. You can contact him too for advice, nice guy.

I’d be surprised if it was fake, there are some out there without the (r) E.g early 70s … maybe CBS were too tight to pay for the extra mark 😂

Definitely do-able 👍
A tone control for the passive option may be helpful too.
And if you really want to max out your options, depending on the pickups, you could add series/parallel switch, or coil split switch.

Blimey. This takes me back to my first Stingray, picked up for £250 second hand in 1981.
How much does Old Smoothie weigh?
Those were the days eh? The one in my avatar cost me £550 used in 1996….
The weight is 9.42lbs / 4.27kg
Cheers
