  1. Finally after much debating of a smaller cab than my Hartke 410TP i ordered a TC BC212 which has been delivered today.
I will be running it with my Hartke LH500 and using my Hartke Bass Attack pedal for added variety.
Ordered from soundslive a fair bit cheaper than others are selling, yesterday afternoon and delivered this morning with a free speakon lead. Cant fault that for service!!

I have a couple of small gigs coming up to use it then I plan to get either another Bc212 or Bc210 to go with it, which should complement my LH500 nicely.

  2. I have the same problem. I have a couple of their P basses which i like. I wanted to change the scratchplate on one so i emailed them but apparently you cant buy them as spares. I also wanted to try out one of the distressed icon jazz basses. I emailed them to ask what shops stocked that bass and they just gave me a list of shops to ring myself. After which it transpired noone was stocking them.
Great basses for money but hard to deal with

  3. AC/DC would be a whole different band without root note bass playing. The simplicity is what makes it sound so good especially on the songs they leave the bass out in the verse and bring it in thumping in the chorus (Highway to hell, shook me all night long etc). Pure and simple but very effective. However Livewire does get a bit boring to play

The Mi12s will give you a fair bit more oomph, but will take up more space and be more of a pain to move. They're not exactly huge and they're not that heavy, but they're not the smallest 1x12s out there.
The Mi10s punch well above their weight, but if you need a lot of stage volume, I'd probably go for 12s.
Your idea of one of each might be the best compromise however.
I've not been much help have I... :)

No that's great. Anything is better then carrying around and storing my 410 at the moment. I will try and find a shop that has them in stock where I can try both the 10 and the 12 out.
    Thanks

  5. As per another thread i did the other day i am now seriously considering these Mi cabs for my new rig.
I will be powering them with a hartke lh500 but not sure whether to go for 2 x 112 cabs or mix it up with a 110 and a 112

  6. Has anyone had any experience with these new cabs in 210 or 212?

Having read through replies to a previous post I made here plus some other interesting threads I have decided to try and improve my rig all be it on a budget.
I want to replace my hartke 410TP with a couple of 8ohm 210 for ease of lifting, storage and hopefully a better sound. I can not afford top end gear like BF but dont want to spend money upgrading if the difference is minimal. Ive used ashdown stuff before and liked the sound and although my 410TP is ok, i am aware its a budget cab.
Id spend about £230 per 210 cab and my plan is to buy one a month.
They would be powered by my Hartke LH500.
I like the the look of the rootmaster but any other suggestions around that price bracket would be considered or should i just stick with my 410TP?
    I play mod/60s covers
    Thanks

  7. We gig every 2 weeks so dont really rehearse the songs we know unless we cock one up big time. Rehearsals are just to learn new songs. Me and guitarist meet at his house one night to go through song structure (we share vox). We then meet drummer to do new song(s) properly. So on average Id say we rehearse as a full 3 piece in studio about once a month

think you might need a hydrive 115 because the XL and VX TPs are only rated about 300-350w iirc ??

i use a vx115 with a hydrive 410 but am only using ha2500 head at the moment but it definitely does pull the extra power out of the head

ed - what car do you have? i managed to get both cabs in a kia picanto and a peugeot 106 comfortably :)

Hydrives are a bit out my price range and I would ideally like to stay with 10". I was just curious to see if a 210 and 410 was a feasible set up

  9. I am using a Hartke LH500 with a 410TP and am very happy with the sound. At a couple of big gigs Ive wanted a bigger sound to get the full 4ohms from my amp. Ive tried using a 115 along with my 410 but was not happy with my sound so I borrowed another 410 (all be it the XL not the TP) and loved the sound of having an 810.
However i neither have the room in the house or car for another 410 so was thinking of getting a 210TP as its smaller and thommann still sell them cheap. However I am sure i have read on another thread here that this is not an ideal set up due to the fact you are sending the same power from the amp into each speaker but one is half the size of the other even though the ohms are correct.
Can anyone confirm this as i also like the thought of being able to just taking my amp and the 210 to rehersal.
    Cheers

  10. Cool. I grew up playing in various metal bands. Anything from WASP to Metallica, but then last year I was asked to join a MOD covers band playing The Jam, and The Who etc.
Cant believe how much I am enjoying it and the bass lines are so much cooler to play!

Always good to have a change.

  11. My Mod cover band 'Inspiration Drive' are playing at The Courthouse in Dudley on Friday 12th September. We are headlining and there are 3 other original up and coming bands on first so should be a great night all for only £5!!
You can pay on door all reserve tickets through me. Its a great upstairs venue with big dance floor and cheap beer!!
Be good to see some people there
