2. Hi All
no one has mentioned the aguillar db750/751 these amps are just brilliant nice and easy to use simple controls with a massive power output which will feed down to 2 ohms i use the db751 with two db 2x12 cabs and watch my trousers flap everytime i play nice deep lows and nice mid scoops and great clear highs via the tweeters in each cab wind the gain up and then start to get that magic sound aguilar are so good at turn down the master and that sound still is there thats another nice thing about this amp i dont have to adjust my eq on the amp once i am happy with the sound the rest i can do this from my bass american pressicion deluxe aguillar do a 810 cab in the gs and db range the gs range is front ported and the db are rear ported i have had both and found the gs range are a bit more i can i say aggresive then the db also the the db are tuned to work with the db amp range i like you have been through various amps over the years the only other amp i liked was a original trace elliott i bought from soundwave in romford essex were they origanily where made but that amp had a killer sound it did use to go througth some vavles amps i have used over the years are as follows
calsbro
hh bassmachine
trace elliot
peavey
ashdown evo 900

5.
personally i'd put pedals that need to 'track' such as octave or synth stuff as close to the bass to give it a fighting chance. It's up to yot whether you put this pre or post compressor.
thanks guys it seems i have alot of chocies and it comes down to your own preferance as there are no hard and fast rules i see what you mean by compression going nearest the bass to flatten out that overall sound dont do a lot off slap bass so compression is only used in moderation and has for the track pedals i also see what you mean as the compressor will squeese the sound from these pedals i do use a bit off chourus and reverb all the time so they are the main pedals in the arsenal the rest are only used in moderation

6.
The general idea I follow is Compressor > Drive/Distortion > Modulation (chorus/phaser/tremolo that kinda thing) > Delay/Reverb. I don't use an expression pedal but if it was for Wah or Volume i'd put it first. Nothing is set in stone though and people do it all kinds of ways. So by all means play around with it and see what works best for you :)
thanks for that reply compressor atthe amp end or guitar end off chain

7. Hi all
I have the following effects pedals and would like some info on the basic running order off these pedals all i do know is the multicomp and the metaldrive ebs recomend it to be first in the chain because of the gain controls hear are the pedals in no peticulaur order
ebs pedals all true bypass
dynaverb /unichourus / tremlo /metaldrive /octave /multicomp
electro harmonix
memory boy deluxe true bypass
line six expression pedal

8.
Do you know which pick-ups this is wearing - Aero, Lindy Fralin or Lakland?

If you're not sure you can tell from the wiring (so I'm told):

Aero: black and white plastic covered
Fralin: black and white cloth covered
Lakland: red and black plastic covered
Hi just had a quick look at the wiring they are red and black = lakeland

11.
Yes Steve, if the amps go down to 2ohms then the scenario you suggest will work. TBH you could daisy chain all of the cabs from one output the effect would be the same but the benefit of your way is that if a speaker lead fails you'd still have output (whereas if the speaker lead to the first cab in a 3 cab daisy chain failed you'd have nothing).
I have db751 which i run with a DB 2x12 4OHM cab in choclate thunder the cab is rated at 600watts i have never had the master volume past a quarter these cabs are so loud was tempted to get another matching cab giving me 1200watts at 2 ohms but i decided that my body and espacially my ears would not take it
