  1. I bought a ibby sr 2405w new....somehow, it just didn't work for me...looking at the spec it should have been mega...i could not get it set up to my liking, even after a fret dress!!..and i have to say, i wasn't too keen on the tone....possibly a friday night bass haha

  2. Firstly, i hope ped doesn't mind me using his pics!

Up for sale or possible trade is this wonderful Atelier z dal-4...These are beautifully built in Tokyo by a small family owned company....The bass is in lovely condition and features 70s spacing of the pickups, a chambered body (alder back and a thick nicely figured ash top)....The bass is resonant and weighs in at 3.6kgs....The neck has a bound and blocked rosewood or possibly a lighter ebony fingerboard??

The bass features Gotoh hardware along with Ateliers own pickups and tone circuit....volume/volume p/p /treble and bass ...nice solid usable tones from the eq and also sounds great in passive mode...The bass is set up nicely with a low to medium action and the truss rod is responsive and in perfect working order .... Any questions please pm me

Shipping is included( UK ) only as i have a hard case.......As far as trades are concerned, preferably 4 string of same value or more...Cheers

  3. Not having a go at Sire, I think they are very good although on the heavy side.... just going off reviews on talkbass where some people were unhappy with the hardware.....I would happily own one if they were lighter.

  4. Thought Sire may have upgraded the tuners and bridge for the latest V10 model being a higher price point, but it would seem they are still fitting the standard spec tuners and bridge.....i don't own a sire so not sure of the quality of said parts !.......Is the quality poor?

  5. Well, just an update folks!......changed the stock pickup for an aguilar alnico MM pickup...also had the east three band preamp installed....The tone now is more refined although i do fine the treble does not have the bite of the original....the semi-parametric mid is useful though!.....As a plus, the G string seems better and more balanced.

  6. Well, i have had both and have to say, i preferred the 5501, i found it cut through the mix better than the 5502...Also, there is a lot of love for said bass on talkbass...the pickup sizes bart mk1/p2 gives a lot of options for upgrades along with the preamp.....plus, if it's good enough for mononeon it's good enough for most...Oh, and the most comfortable 35 scale bass i have played.
