Thank you very much for the donation. It has indeed landed safely in the funds jar.
I am waiting for a quote for a skin for the website, and once we know the cost we will tell everyone how close we are to the traget (we may have enough already). There are some points covered in this sticky: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=789
We have already upgraded the server and so forth costing us £130 which was covered by the donations, so we are doing well. Everyone has been so generous, me and the team have all been touched by your support, and Kiwi tried to touch us too but we were anticipating that, so could run away.
Thanks mate

Well there we have it! Sorted, close this badboy down, ta

LOL!! Really glad you are still in love with it. How are you getting on with the Basson cabinet?
You will have to come down and see the Trace sometime. Mind you, I suppose the distance is quite considerable...
Cheers

I bet they do!! I find the built in tuner on the rackmount line6 gear is excellent - very steady and precise. I doubt anyone will buy one just for the tuner though.

Ey up everyone,
Now at the moment I am in heaven with my simple but literally plug and play recording setup. I have Ableton Live Lite 6 and my bass pod XT pro plugged into my laptop via usb, and I listen to everything through headphones or through my trace V4. It sounds wonderful and is SO easy to use.
Now then - all I want now is a little keyboard that I can plug into my laptop which I can use to play drums and a few other things into ableton on a new track. In the 'proper' studio we have reason and a whole host of other rewire apps which just work wonderfully, but I want something cheaper and lighter as I only want a few things from it. I want to control the built in sounds avaliable in Ableton which are fine, but the drums are limited and hard to 'play' with the laptop keyboard.
Ideally I want a lil keyboard with loads of built in sounds I can just play. Failing that, one which comes with some audio samples it can control and then those into Ableton. Is this confusing or do you understand me? Lol.
Any ideas? I plan to go to PMT tomorrow and have a chat with the folk there as they have been great in the past, but want to go in with some idea and prices in mind.
Cheers

Lovely - I hope it wasn't Parcelforce!!

Did you see the fast show where Level 42 were playing and the bloke goes over and says 'Turn it down will you lads' to which Mark King says 'Well, it doesn't sound quite the same like that'. The bloke replies 'well turn it bloody off then' lol. Mark king looks quite dejected lol.

I had one on a 57 P bass a while ago, I must have it somewhere. Could flog it as a prize or something. I don't remember it having any effect really but the headstock of my bass seemed like a convinient place to store it in my little diggs at uni. I used the neck to hold damp towels and hung my washing from the strap buttons.

They do indeed. Must be worth a punt at that price!

Lol.. well I let my 36 incher do the talking! (And humming and other assorted noises).
Now bugger off -
Ollie,
Those Bacchus basses are the 'universe' series, the cheaper line made in Korea as opposed to the handmade Japanese models. Still look great for the money though. -
More top advice.

I have heard the pickups in the Aerodyne are a bit weak and mismatched in volume.

Thanks Bob! I loved the look of that P but it didn't 'feel' quite right. I can't quite put my finger on it, but the tension seemed quite high and I could never get the action perfect. If its pink basses you want, keep an eye on this: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=335459
Cheers mate

Lovely - nice range of sounds there. Good pics too! How old is the bassman, where did you get it?
-
Hi tinman,
You can get aluminium rectangle cases with a large foam block inside and cut that to fit your bass. They offer superb protection.

Hehe yeah I was pretty bored today. I will probably revert back to my side splitting ped-type logo lol.

Man I hate it when people sing over bass like that!! Does my head in.
And sorry, no!! But the man doesn't seem entirely sane judging by that clip lolol. I know, I know, he is a bass legend.

Good luck sir - and careful not to leave any rough edges!!

I went fairly deep on each saddle - you can, after all, always raise the saddle to compensate. I went at least an A string deep into each one.
-
I put some grooves in mine, I found that with lower tension strings the G string would move left to right a tad without them anyway.

hello matey,
I went here: http://gickr.com/upload_files and uploaded the piccies, saved it as a .gif and uploaded it here. Good stuff!!
