have a look at me over there and you'll see my positive 3.
Is that a euphemism? -
Depends, how larruping is a Thumb bass?
The Thumb is famous the world over for being the most larrupy motherf*cker that money can buy.
Also, the heaviest and neck-diveyist. -
Christ, they're a laugh riot on that Status forum, aren't they?
Right lads, I'm off to form my new Larruped Metal band. Who wants in?
I suppose the bass player slot is filled? -
No good deed goes unpunished...
You mean you've not heard Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick before?
Of course I've heard it before, but not for years, and never with an ear for the bass line. -
I always get an emperor's new clothes feeling when I see clips of Jaco. That was dreadful.
-
Never heard that like that before. Wouldn't have even guessed that there was a bass line like that in there.
I've got stubby fingers
Ahh, you stubby-fingered freak.

Are you sure that the wrist pain isn't caused by holding the neck up? My NT5 goes into a terrific nose dive first chance it gets, and it used to give me terrible grief in my left wrist.
Nope, the solo was DiGiorgio too - Carino just did some overdubs at the beginning of the track:
"The credits in the cd booklet are misleading. I played the whole song, but shortly after I was done I had to leave for Europe to hook up with the Sadus dudes to tour with Morbid Angel. Anyway, while they were mixing they found some weird sound on the bass track and since I wasn't there to fix it and since Scott was there hanging out during an album he wished he could have recorded...they told him to grab his bass and redo like three notes in the very beginning. That's it man, a very small thing. The break in the middle after the cosmic storm is me, obviously, on the mighty Ric." - Steve DiGiorgio
Fair enough, ta. -
I checked. DiGiorgio did most of the bass, but the little solo in Cosmic Sea was by Skott Carino.
-
I've got a Laney combo that's 2-3 years old. I think it's 160 watts. To be honest, I don't rate it at all and I've been using an old Peavey thing in the rehearsal room recently.
-
I like Opeth a lot but I'm not seeing them this tour. Where did you see them?
Is Sean Malone the bass player who played the solo in Cosmic Sea from Death's Human album? Thought that was the guy from Cynic, but I'm probably way off the mark. -
God damn it I wish I'd seen that.
I'd rather not have known..... -
I bought a couple of sets for my Thumb. I wouldn't say they were anything special to be honest. I haven't been massively impressed with the initial tone of them, or the life of the brightness.

Gazillions of 'em. -
Shine's are ace. I have a 5 that I used as my main bass for ages. I played one of their sixes at the London Music Show and it was lovely. £160 new, insane value for money. Honestly, nothing wrong with a Shine.

Okay, a serious response.
No, it's not a reliable form of stress relief for me. Sometimes, if it's going well, then it relieves stress. At other times, it makes me angry beyond words. I have been close to throwing £1,000 worth of bass guitar across the room many, many times. -

I'm not a particular fan of these, but that sure is purdy.

Ths kids/family mayhem thing sounds sickeningly familiar....

Ha ha yeah, what a knob. I'd want at least two Zons in exchange for my Warwick. -
Anyway...
What a knob.
That caught me so much by surprise that I laughed out loud.
