I tried the headphone socket on the rm500 last night for the first time, there’s a lot of interference, has anyone experienced this

I use the headphone socket on my RM800 frequently and never had any issues at all.

I have just set @Cosmicrain the task of building a black/maple P-alike to resolve exactly that issue with my collection 😎

Ohhh...you doing a build diary I can follow...?

I built a walnut / maple single coil 54p-esque bass two years ago, absolutely love it, but I'd love a black / maple version...but I don't trust myself with the painted finish...I'd love to watch how yours turns out...👍

    A black version of this...20191011_135321.thumb.jpg.ead7f825534db1ca1eb0cfa8d9ed2beb.jpg

  3. Everytime I see one of these come up here, not that that's very frequent, but I keep humming and hawing wishing I'd grow the cahones to just pull the trigger and deal with the other halves wrath later...😅🤦‍♂️...I need one to come up and for me to see it for the first time on a Saturday night, with a couple or red wines in me...😄😀

The new ABM210H EVO IV Pro Neo arrived today

Lovely match with my RM head

And so light, single handle lift

Will add a second one in time.

    Lovely wee set up...!

Curious, did you buy the rug to match the bass / amp head or the other way round...?!

Ridiculous that people know who Bez is but not the drummer or bass player...

My last gig pre-Covid, was The Happy Monday's at the O2 in Glasgow in October 2019...I'm the gypsy's kissed one in the photo...😂😂

Edit: Don't need to be seeing my drunk coupon on here...!

  6. I know nothing about Gibson basses...I've never had one...I've never even played one...but I've always admired from afar, without being confident enough to actually pull the trigger...

I saw this earlier, think it looks bloody attractive and looks to be in very decent nick, but I've no idea about the pricing, where it should sit...any opinions?

It'll probably not sway me to go ahead and buy it, but it might give me food for thought...maybe for the weekend after a few red wines...!! 😂

  7. Similarly to what someone said earlier, and not to wallow in others lack of motivation, but I'm actually finding this is a rather bizarrely reassuring and comforting thread reading that other posters, and in particular some of the more prominent posters on here, are in the same place as myself.

I've no doubt for me, and likely most, that this lack of motivation is temporary and purely circumstantial and that as soon as 'normal' can return, allowing for rehearsing as one, and more importantly, the return of live gigging, then we will all back to as we were prior to March 2020.

  8. Two years ago, April 2019, whilst doing a self-build, I ordered and paid for a Hipshot Bridge which was marked as in stock.

Ended up it wasn't and was being ordered an imported from the US. Was given a date of June, thereafter weekly emailing and chasing up until it eventually arrived in August.

Only kept my order open as I really wanted that particular bridge, was the cheapest by far and the June date ETA worked with my plans.

Before that, I've had a combo which arrived with no mains lead supplied and I've had strings which were completely the wrong ones.

I certainly won't be in any rush to shop there again.

    Because they're really good!

I'll assume the Thunderbird social media groups are a fairly typical group of owners. To buy any Thunderbird you have to really want yhat specific shape and sound. Most who want the Vintage Pro sound don't like the modern Gibson and a bicentennial will cost you a big old pile of cash.

Would you say they are circa £500 new, "good"...?!
