I'm in a blues band of "mature" gentlemen. We are rehearsing and improving and I reckon we are sounding alright. BUT we can't seem to be able to hang on to drummers. They don't explode or anything, but just make weak excuses as to why they are unable to carry on with us. I know we aren't Cream or the Experience, or anything else for the matter. We spent 3 hours in a rehearsal room on saturday (which had to be paid for) waiting for "Kevin" to turn up for an audition, or get in touch. Tonights one hasn't confirmed so we have cancelled that. Our new but regular drummer has damaged his car and can't commit to anything this week which is why we were trying to line up a standby. Are we rubbish (well possibly) or just unlucky??? This isn't intending to be a drummer slating thread BTW, just a general enquiry from a newbe as to what to expect.
Is it wrong to expect or hope for commitment.

I'm confused. If JH was that precious about his brand, then how can he let substandard articles get into circulation.

Rosemary is the lady in question. Just back from Jam night at the Middlesex Arms, South Ruislip. She played drums for our two numbers, then drummed for one number with another band, then played the LP, sang and played harp. She certainly is some rock chick.

I've got Fender flats on a couple of my fretlesses. I find them not as smooth as the ones on my other fretless which I bought off ebay with the strings already on. Don't know what they are but they have black silk. Anyone know what they might be (with apology for the hi-jack)

I've always found my interest go around in rotation. I would imagine it'll come back to you if you don't 'force" it. Having like minded friends helps enormously.

Well personally, I would cut off both my arms and one (or maybe both) of my legs to be able to play like that, not to mention have hair like that.
