I love this head! Wish I could afford one.

Pee bass or tinkle trout

Some options:
-An electric upright so you can play using headphones
-Moving out to a place that fits your needs
-finding a rehearsal space, garage or shack in the neighbourhood to practice at.
Sorry to hear your family is unsupportive of your dreams. Good luck working with them towards a solution! -
Use one to bypass the preamp on the tatty house rig, go straight to FOH, for recording, use to take the tuner out of the signal chain... it's nice to fall back on sometimes.
Why spend any money at all on amps and cabs... but that was a different thread -
Verellen meatsmoke preamp
Stupid GAS
:facepalm -
Haha only pointing it out because of the list of DI equipped preamp pedals. Roll on

Slighly different but similar topic: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/212231-pedals-with-di-out/#entry2140441

For preamp pedals a DI can be very usefull, for other types of pedal not so much, it will very much depend on what you are looking to accomplish soundwise. Use one to bypass the preamp on the tatty house rig, go straight to FOH, for recording, use to take the tuner out of the signal chain... it's nice to fall back on sometimes.
Adding to the list:
Harley Benton BDI-2000
Markbass Superbooster
MXR m80
Aguilar Tonehammer
Behringer BDDI
SansAmp(s)
DHA
Sadowsky preamp pedal
EBS Microbass
Hartke Bass Attack
Lehle BassWitch
Eden WTDI
Radial Bassbone

Mostly just having a laugh with the guys, doing a show or two a year.
A new 6 song e.p. will be recorded this fall, doing all originals.

AC/D-SHE
Female tribute band, and onthat note:
The Iron Maidens right? -
Swr enhancer + 1x15 is total overkill at an inside gig. Unless you're playing dub those settings are for large outside stages
-
"Dwell in the pocket" ?
That could get you kicked out of the cinema! -
Les Claypool anyone?
In my band I got about 40% of the music and 98% of the lyrics (as I'm the singist aswell). -

When it goes 'bang', I want to replace it with something that I can remove the back seats from. My old Galaxy could do that. Or rather the back-back seats folded into the floor. Skoda Yeti perhaps?
The yeti is not very roomy on the inside, you'd be better off in a prius+ for instance. -
Hofner & Vox?
-
I want this but spent my disposable income on a markbass Superbooster last weekend /facepalm.
Interested in any trades? -
Vocals and lyrics are two different things though. Can an instrumental song have vocals as long as no words are used?

we do do 500 miles though Fa Da Da Da

Sounds like a good line!
I try to use lyrics as a vehicle to get people thinking about a certain subject that's been bothering me. Not that anyone ever listens. Or deciphers my screaming jibberjabber. -
Dacia Logan? Huge estate, not very expensive.
If it was my money though, I'd splurge on a superb saloon. -

Wow....biggest tuner ever? lol

Biggest and most ostentatious I could find yes. Works allright, a bit slow on the low B maybe. -
M82 - M87 - ZVEX Distortron - M80 - SWR 750x
Band practice tonight will prove if the distortron stays.

Has anybody tried DRs dragonscale strings? All I hear about them is raving reviews.
Soundbars vs bookshelf speakers...
in General Discussion

It's hardly like bose is at the top of the hifi food-chain
A soundbar could help making speech more audible in stereo setup, but my money went towards a decent centre speaker.
Currently I'm running two large-ish floorstanders (for wich mrs B gives me crap, but I borrowed some fancy looking bookshelf ones -tannoy, pioneer and eclipse- even she could hear the shocking loss of quality) a centre and a sub (for fun watching movies)
I tried 5.1 and 7.1 setups but found it gimmicky and not worth the clutter.
Maybe play her favorite music through quality speakers more often?
