When EBS and Billy Sheehan developed the signature pedal, Billy went through his entire rig before asking the simple question: can we do this in a pedal?

If you are familiar with his sound, and setup, you know it is quite advanced and very well thought out where he separates low-end and high-end and use both distortion and compression as important components to achieve his tone. It was as challenging as inspiring for us to cook Billy’s ideas down to a single pedal.

EBS got the job done, and did it so well that both the original purple one, and the new orange Deluxe model have been important ingredients of his rig ever since. For those that are not that fortunate to have access to all the equipment that Billy use, the pedal itself give you almost all ingredients that his entire setup offer – in a little box!

The pre amp includes a passive and active input jack socket for use with high and low output instruments, this sets a clear signal path to the input control enabling you to fine tune your input level using the trademark Ashdown VU meter. With the signal at its optimal level, you then hit the rich features designed enhance your tone, such as the shape button, 5-band EQ and on-board compressor. The drive control, as always delivers a delectable valve emulated over-drive, whilst the sub harmonic controls add further fatness to your tone - both can be foot-switched via an FS 2 foot-switch (sold separately).

Rootmaster EVO II heads also features a handy mute button. What’s even cooler is when switched to mute, the trademark Ashdown Engineering VU meter changes from orange to cool blue – creating the perfect on stage mood lighting between sets.

Been used as a vocal PA carpet finish is still OK all in all fair condition.

All working  100 %  tested today.

500w (350rms) there not silly heavy either 22kg I think. 3 inputs overall Treble and Bass control. I have had them 3 years and they never missed a beat (unlike our drummer!)

Nice cases these better protection than some other more expensive brands. This one is virtually new use mane 4or5 times. Moveable pads means it will fit most basses.

Ok so this is mint as in out of the box used once to cover a dead CTM 100. And cover it did very well it’s loud enough for any small to medium pub club gig.

Bought from Anderton’s 6 weeks ago for £249 in a sale. The Ashdown bag was £55
