1. SOLD For sale is a useful dual channel mic/line preamp. I used to use this as the input stage before plugging into an Eden amp to sweeten up the high end a little. Here is the website with official specs. http://www.laaudio.co.uk/Resources/Documents/MLX20.pdf My unit is in good working order although cosmetically not pristine. I'll put pics up as soon as I can get some. £50 collected form Birmingham or Merseyside or can meet up if location convenient for both parties at time of purchase. Steve
2. SOLD As the title says, 4U rack flightcase, made by the Flightcase Warehouse. £35, collection from Birmingham, Merseyside, or can meet somewhere convenient for both parties depending on where I am at time of purchase! Steve

4. Bump. Need to sell this before the one I want to buy gets snapped up.
5. Mark's been coming to me for lessons for a few months and I'd like to thank him for introducing me to and helping me gain respect for players I should have studied long ago (but I was too young ) An excellent student who has too many nice basses. See me after class please, Tredders. Ha ha!
6. Hi, Does anyone know of any trusted double bass workshops in the Oxford area? Steve
7. I'm passing Preston on Sunday afternoon/early evening.....
8. Hi, I've got a Fender MIM Jazz bass for sale on here for £300.... http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=79594 Is that the kind of thing you're looking for? Steve
9. This is a superb bass. I played it yesterday and it sounds beautiful!
10. I suppose the best it could mean is that a potential buyer could save a large shipping bill.
11. I received an email from Charlie Chadwick, the inventor of the folding bass he markets and he suggested that if anyone was interested in purchasing such a bass it might be possible for someone to meet him at one of the gigs on the tour and try and maybe buy his bass at the end of the tour, the idea being it would save shipping costs on a new bass ordered from the US. What a nice chap. He's going to look into it from a customs point of view.
12. This bass is now SOLD. Fender Jazz, made in Mexico. Wine red finish, rosewood fingerboard and white mother of pearl scratchplate. Upgraded with Seymour Duncan Vintage Jazz pickup and badass II bridge. Will include Overwater padded strap and straplocks. There is no case with this bass. There is one small ding by the bridge which can be seen in the photo. Otherwise excellent condition. Excellent sound and feel. Bought this bass as a backup but I would be happy to use it on any gig or recording. I will miss having it around but need cash to put towards a 5 string bass. £300 SOLD
13. SOLD PENDING DELIVERY ROUND THE CORNER! For sale is my Markbass Little Mark II including Markbass gigbag. Excellent condition, not used very much over the last year as it's mainly been a backup for my SA450. Will include Speakon to jack speaker cable. There is a slight tear in the top edge of the gigbag front pocket but it could be easily repaired. Selling to put cash towards a new bass. Collection only from Birmingham or Wallasey. (I am in Merseyside now, Sat 6th March until Tuesday 9th March) £380
14.
Ha ha! too true. I see from my accounts for tax year 2009/10 that I'll have done in excess of 13,000 miles. Never felt the need for a bendy bass. An unneccesary distraction IMO.
I agree, no real need if travelling by car or van and can easily transport your own instrument. But the folding bass was, I think designed for musicians for whom space is tight or for those who fly a lot. The bass player I met in Germany had just started flying to a lot of gigs in the US and across to Europe so it saved him a lot of hassle by being able to check in the bass as luggage without too much of a problem. It also makes the difference between playing a rented bass or your own on tour.
15. Yes, May and June sorry!! I've edited my post. Charlie said he'd welcome anyone to go along and see the bass. I'm sure he'd show you the system of how the bass folds up too.
16. Charlie Chadwick, the inventor of the 'folding bass' will be coming to the UK to play some shows with country artist Suzy Bogguss in May and June. This would be a fantastic opportunity to see and hear Charlie's bass in action. Check out the tour dates here: http://www.suzybogguss.com/ Steve
17. Condition fine, just a bit dusty! My bass is a gamba style and it fits fine. Pockets and straps ahoy!
