1. Rehease you parts with just the drummer or without vocals, it may be likely you are asked to track to just the kit unless you are doing a live (band) recording, you would be stunned how easy it is to get lost without cues from the whole band in an arrangment without lyrics or a familiar melody. Maybe draw up arrangments on paper or chord charts.
You should remember to all tune up from the most expensive tuner that either your band or the studio own and after every couple of takes check the tuning.
New strings,
Best quality leads you can afford or borrow,
Batteries for pedals and basses,
Dont accept the phrase fix it in the mix. There are limitations to digital technology and although its possible to diguise faults in the playing (not that there will be im sure), you know they are there and the more you listen to the track the more obvious they become to you.
If your bass sounds good in the live room then it should sound the same in the control room if not better, again refernce to fix in the mix phrase.
remember you are the client, you should get the service you want from the studio not the other way round but dont ask the impossible.
But most importantly enjoy it and have fun, it is supposed to be a pleasurable experience creating music.
Good Luck

2.
4 ohms vs 5.3 ohms is less than a 1dB difference, nothing like a striking difference, in fact barely audible.
1dB would equate to approximately 67% increase or usage of your total remaining power as a 3dB raise is an actual doubling of amplitude, granted the average humans ear can only detect an approximate perceived increase of 23% but stlll is not a small amount.

3. Does the combo have the front flight case lid? I used to have one of these and ALSO regret getting rid of it!

A middle aged woman was looking in the mirror one night,
sighing she turned to her husband and said
"Im old, fat and ugly, please pay me a compliment"
The husband looks up and says,
"Your eyesight is still good!"

6. Its a bolt on with passive precision and jazz pick ups, so it has a generic passive/ fenderish sound, nice and full blues to pokey funk. Think Billy Gould of Faith no More
It has volume, volume and master tone controls so it allows for a wide variety of sounds. One miss matched knob.
It has a slim fast neck and the only reason im getting rid is i have tooooo many basses and this ones rarely gets an outing but thats no reflection on the bass.
There is slight scratching to the laquer in a couple of places looks more like playing, maybe plec damage, this doesnt go through the colour at all and is only seen in the right light, tried to show it in pics, couple of very small chips, one on front one dint to the rear of neck again see pics.
Any trial etc.
Cheers
Dave
