Has anyone dealt with these guys online before? I'm looking to buy a new pedal and just thought I'd suss out a few opinions with you lovely folk first :)

  2. Thinking about picking this up but I have a few questions regarding it. Will it power absolutely every kind of pedal? Like for instance, a digitech whammy pedal, that has a specific adaptor that it uses to be powered, so would the dc brick power that pedal? Also boss pedals have their own adaptors as well dont they? I'm just a tad confused by this one.

  3.
If possible blend a lot of uneffected signal into the distortion pedal. Boosting treble on the bass (also if possible :)) would probably help.
I'm not using a pedal though, its a Sansamp RPM rack unit. I'm running it through the input of my Mesa and using an on/off footswitch to go between the 2 for seperate clean and overdrive sounds. I do plug direct into the Sansamp though so I'll try the blend trick later. And boost more treble and see how I get on

  4. Right I realise theres probably like a bazillion threads(maybe an exaggeration ) on this kinda thing, but I'm looking to achieve a mix of these kind of tones.

    Dick Lovgren of Meshuggah

Rex Brown's tone that he's had on recent Down albums

Both are very gritty and aggressive tones. It sounds like the treble is up to the gills on both but I'm not quite sure. I should be able to get somewhat of a similar tone, I run my Spector Euro 5LX through a Mesa Big Block and Sansamp RPM for overdrive as I didnt like the overdrive on the Big Block. I've fiddled about a bit with settings but cant quite get that sound, anyone have any ideas? Any help is much appreciated :)

  5. Ok this may make me sound like I know nothing, but is there a way I can use the iec outlets on the back of my powerlight? Most of the plugs I have for my gear are european 2 prong plugs that look like this http://img.alibaba.com/photo/201569288/Eur...style_plugs.jpg

Edit: I just saw this http://www.introdelta.com/product-detail_1...13-amp-pdus.php and I think it may be exactly what I'm looking for ;)

  6. I have a Behringer powerlight in my rig as well that has power outlets at the back, but they look along the lines of these http://www.bulgin.co.uk/HTMLDocs/news/2-4WayOut.html which are no help to me unless I'm missing something

  7. As the title suggests, I'm sure I'm not the only one who has a bunch of leads/plugs etc hanging out the back of a rack system. My question is, is there any convenient way to avoid this mess? My main problem is having to plug all my gear into an extension lead, so that leads to all the wires hanging down the back etc. Is there anything I could buy for the rack system that would do a similar job to the power blocks you can get for your effects pedals in a pedal board? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated ;)

  8.
Now THAT'S a METAL rig!! :P
Haha it sure is man, I love playing through it ;) but I'm still searching for that exact tone I want from it

  9. I'm looking at trying to get a somewhat more beefy tone as well.

I'm using a Spector Euro 5LX through a rack Mesa Big Block 750 as my pre-amp and a Sansamp RPM for overdrive. All through an Ampeg 8x10 cab.

Now, it is quite monstrous...but I'm looking to get that extra clarity and beefyness if possible...compression perhaps? I havent really used a compressor much before. Any ideas? Or ideas for settings?

  10. Right, I have a Warwick $$ and Spector Euro 5 and I've found that certain strings dont work out for them. On both basses, where the strings rest on the bridge theres a narrow gap for each one, and I bought a set of Elixir strings recently for my Spector but found that the width of the string at the base of it wouldnt fit in on the bridge where the string rests. The only ones I've found so far that are narrow enough at the base are Warwick Black Labels. Also this only seems to happen with the thicker strings like the low B. Is there anything I should be looking out for when buying strings or is it just trial and error? :)

  11. ...and uploaded a track by my band on myspace from said EP. We're a progressive kind of metal I guess would be the best way to describe it. Check it out if you're interested, cheers! :)

  12.
Which ampeg head is it that ya don't need?
Will be in the market for a new head soon
Its an SVT 450H. Selling for 550 euros, whatever that works out as in the exchange rate these days I'm not sure!

  13. I'm not quite sure if this is the right section of the forum to put this on, but does anyone know of any places that do good deals on cd duplication? Just finished recording an EP with the band I'm in and we're looking to get it duplicated in jewel cases with a 4 panel inlay

  14.
Hey dave,

Fancy meeting you here. ^_^ I tried a four string studio version and it was pretty abysmal; thin sounding, chunky neck and the balance was very poor with a lot of neck dive. Although, I'd imagine the reason anyone would use this instrument is the aesthethic appeal so playabilty and sound would be secondary.

Best advice is 'try before you buy'! But I prefer that tasty spector you were using the last day. What happened to the $$?
Yeah the Spector I was using for the gig yesterday is my newest baby, shes lovely :) its a pity the gig was crap, couldnt hear a thing onstage! Ah well. I still have the $$, theres no way I'd part with it! I'm of 2 minds in regards to the Thunderbird, I've been offered it as a trade for my Ampeg head.
