1.
What a surprise, I phoned them today to enquire about a Markbass F1 head, I really wanted to try one.

Now they only do internet and telephone sales from a warehouse opposite where they had their shop.

So now the only bass shop is the Gallery.
HI give bass merchat a call they have mark bass gear in stock, i know i work there!!

yeah i know, thats where i got this one from, im open to offers, but i dont think they are available anymore from anywhere but ebay, and they are the hofners. It is a great bass, sounds great, but its not my cup of T. If it sells cool, if not, its still cool to have, so not really fussed.

I had a zoot bass for a while, which was nice, but not for me, im more of a traditional bass man, you know fenders and stuff, and i like a passive bass as oppsoed to actives. Although the levinson has a pull active boost, but it has a simply awsom passive tone, and just plays like a dream. I had a zoot 5 string boudica bass, was lovely, but to middy for me. I would like to get one day (or year) the funkmister 5 he makes, they are wonderful to look at and sound great, but 2k, is better spent on the morgage than a bass at this moment in time!!

  4. Hello all, im new here, the names rich, from essex! i have been playing about 25 years, and work p/t at the bass merchant , and have a little duo www.bsharpduo.co.uk Any way i have two bases a steinberger sprit, which sounds great but give me a sever cramp in the left shoulder when playing it live, (any idea why? ) im not tall 5 6 and the strech to the f is a long way away, unyet when playing my 6 with a huge wide neck, i had no problems.

I have just bought a levinson b1 tetra standerd. Oh my god, i have owend about 30 basses in my time, and have to say that this blows them all away! even the posh hand made jobs (imop) I urge anyone looking for a jazz type bass to try one of these, they are simply the best for playability sound, and the quality and action is darn near perfect as they come. At the bass merchant he has a cool white five string, that i just could not stretch to, £599 but the 4 string i have is fast and has the best slap sound. I have to take my hat off to levinson to come up with a bass under £500 which is just so so sweet! well done!! :)

  5. :) well loved 6 string bass. It is made by indie, and retails for £630 and it takes about 6 weeks to order one. Please see their site. Ok The bass is solid swamp ash, and the neck i belive is hard maple, with a rosewood fingerboard and perl inlays. I have to say that although i have done many gigs with it, it remains in perfect condition, both front and back, and of course being solid wood (not veneer) it is extreamly hard wearing. The Neck has a super slim profile, and is very fast, and the frets are all as new, although this bass is well played in, and the fretboard feels great under the fingers. The neck has a duel truss rod system, so you can be sure that it is solid, and it stays in tune for weeks! This is my main gigging bass, but i guess i just fancy a change! I have also has a 2 band aguiler 18 volt preamp fitted by mike walsh (zoot bass) and it sounds great. The sound is like a modern jazz, warm, punchy and is great for all styles, even slap. The string spacing is similar to a jazz, so for a 6er, it can be slapped with not too much agro from the b and c string! The bass has not been cut to have the preamp fitted as all the new wire, preamp and and batterys went into the exiisting cavity. It will last you a year before you need to replace the batterys. The bass also comes with Ritter gig bag and good strap. The strings are dead (i have not changed them in a year as the music i play live is soul and funk ) www.bsharpduo.co.uk but i have ordered a new set that i will throw in as well! All in all this is a great gigging bass, or to have at home, it looks great on the stand. This bass was by no means stuck in the corner at home, if fact it gigs about twice a week, and has remained exellent, reliable and looks pretty on all the stages! whoever gets this will be very happy! I cant upload photos as the site will not allow, but i am happy to email them.

    £375.
