3.
Hi Etienne As much as that sounds very tempting i really need the cash to fund my replacement cab,but your more than welcome to come and have a listen to them if you want, especially with you living just across the Mersey let me know what you think(oh,and i make a mean cup of coffee cheers Terry
Hi Terry, Thanks for letting me know, that sounds fair enough to me! However, if TWO Bergie 2x10's isn't cutting it, what are you changing to, if you don't mind me asking? You've laid the gauntlet down with the cabs & coffee offer though, will be in touch! Guess I'll just have to crack on and get my two fine instruments sold, then see if these are still around... Any takers? Watch the Basses For Sale forum over the next few days!
 4.
oh man if only it would be closer - i have sansamp - its not mint but still very very good condition and i would paid you 50 quid. I'm in Cardiff but i might be in Liverpool in July (maybe we will be playing gig there).
Thanks for the interest guys! To Ben: I'm pretty sure that I won't be posting this, UNLESS absolutely no-one bites in the next month! Somebody PM'ed me about 2hrs ago asking if they can try it out tomorrow morning, so I'll see how that goes... To Fifeq: If your gig's on next month and the cab still hasn't sold by then, please PM me. BTW, please clarify- did you mean you'd trade me your Sansamp PLUS £50 for the cab, OR did you mean you'd trade me the Sansamp ONLY and pay me £50 for diesel? Thanks again!

Are you looking for cash only, or would you consider trades? If so, I can offer you EITHER my 2004 Fender Roscoe Beck IV in Lake Placid Blue (matching headstock, VGC with case and tools) OR my '79 P-Bass in Sienna Burst/ Maple (well gigged but a beaut!) as a straight swap for both Bergies. BTW, I'm just over the water from you in Liverpool (by Sefton Park)! Let me know what you think, Cheers! Etienne
 6. I bought this a couple of years ago on Ebay to partner up with my other early Mini 48- gigged together, they made a tiny 1200WRMS 8x8 that could cut right through my old blues/rock band's twin guitars no problem! However, since I finally managed to track down an early ABM Mini 15 this year and prefer the extra low-end, I have no need for this anymore... It's a 2003 model (going by the serial number), which means it's the early, 'stealth' design (black rectangular carry handles either side, black-finished metal corners, and plain black grille with little Ashdown logo badge) It has both 1/4" jack & Speakon inputs. 600W RMS @ 8ohms, weighs about 30 Kenny G's, but easy to pick up and carry! Functionally, it's in great shape- sounds clear and punchy like it should. The only very minor gripe is the jack socket needs re-tightening every once in a while, as the plastic fastening nut eventually works loose with repeated plugging & unplugging- an easy fix though and doesn't affect the sound one bit! I always used the Speakon input anyway... Cosmetically, it gets 9/10. it's seen a few gigs, but is actually pretty tidy. There are just a few small nicks and minor scuffs in the vinyl covering here and there, and... that's it really! I'm looking for £150 for this, or I may swap for an A1 condition, boxed Sansamp BDDI (preferably the current model with the extra switching). Sorry, no offers! I'm based just south of Liverpool city centre, and I seriously encourage interested parties to come and try this out in person. Sorry, but I won't post this due to the weight, and also because I don't trust couriers! However, I am prepared to deliver this within a reasonable distance (say, 50 miles) if my diesel costs are covered... better budget for an extra £150 in that case! Thanks for looking!
 7. Hello everyone! A BC'er known as Sparky told me about this place... I'd been lurking around here for a few months before deciding it was a cool place to hang out! I'm 31, and have been playing bass for 15 years now, but I've been hooked on the instrument for much longer! I still remember buying my first bass back in April '94 (a 10th-hand 'Grant' Jazz Bass copy with stupidly high action!) with £90 that I'd scraped together doing chores for the old man- he was nice enough to buy me an amp to go with it though! I always remember the drive home from the music shop afterwards, mainly because I first heard the news of Kurt Cobain's death on our car's radio that afternoon... I'm basically self-taught, but I've had some great mentors along the way- the very first was Sting, courtesy of a Police greatest hits CD I got for my 15th birthday! The following are all dudes as well in my book (In no particular order & by no means exclusive!)... Willie Weeks, Bruce Thomas, Bedders, Mick Quinn, John Paul Jones, James Jamerson, Rick Danko, Timmy C, Dirk Lance, Ben Kenney, John Entwistle, J.J. Burnel, George Porter Jr, Bob Babbitt, Larry Graham, Stuart Zender, Mani, John Deacon, Mark White, Robert DeLeo, etc, etc... As you can tell, my tastes are pretty eclectic! The most recent player to leave a lasting impression on me was Justin Chancellor of Tool, who is just a brilliantly creative player! I mainly play using my self-taught fingers-and-thumb picking technique (with all its quirks), but a few years ago I really got into using a pick as well (thanks in no small part to Mr Chancellor)- now I use whatever works best for the music I'm playing! I've been playing in bands more or less constantly since I joined my first one back in school, and I'm still enjoying it! I've been based up here in Liverpool for 10 years now, and in that time have played with a lot of cool people. My previous band, Xander and the Peace Pirates, were fortunate enough to do some great gigs, which included supporting blues artist Eric Bibb on the first night of his UK tour, and also opening for the legend that is Buddy Guy, both at the nearby Philharmonic Hall. Needless to say, both were amazing evenings! I also regularly dep for a couple of my good bassist mates (playing in their function/bar bands), and do the odd bit of session playing & recording too. Most recently I've played a couple of gigs apiece for two local legends of the 80's scene- Pete Wylie (Mighty Wah!) and Ian McNabb (Icicle Works), which were all pretty fun, though somewhat chaotic at times, shall we say! However, one still has to make a proper living in between, so I work as the delivery driver for an independant coffee shop/catering company in the city centre... Tonewise, I'm always experimenting, but always seem to gravitate back towards the big and round old-school Fender/Ampeg vibe. However, as I live in a 2nd-floor flat, an SVT and 8x10 is just not happening! My rig is a Gallien-Krueger 1001RB-II head and two Barefaced Compacts. I also regularly use either a Sadowsky preamp or a Tech 21 Bass Driver DI to fatten my sound up, depending on the gig. I've been through a fair few basses over the years (though not as many as some of you lot!)- at some point I'll post a list of them all in here. However, I seem to have pretty much settled on these for what I do: - Fender US/Japan hybrid Stack-Knob Jazz Bass (80's Japanese Oly White body, USA 62RI R/W neck, Nordstrand NJ4s, CTS pots, Series/Parallel switch, copper-shielded/star-grounded, Ernie Ball rounds) - 1983 Squier JV '57 Precision Bass (Oly White, Maple neck, Nordstrand NP4, CTS pots, copper-shielded/star-grounded, D'addario flats) - Yamaha BB414- Defretted (Black Pearl, R/W neck, PJ pickups, CTS pots, high-mass bridge) Nice to meet you all! Etienne
