1.
Just making sure: previous costumer backed off?
In case you were asking as you're interested, it's still here. If just a casual enquiry, no worries.
2. Sold a bass to Bris, instant upfront payment, great comms, good guy to do business with

Chris just bought my NS Wav 4, lovely guy, came cash in hand and picked up as was gigging locally. Great Bass-chatter
4. No solid offers so far... It's still waiting for its forever home...
5. what's the problem? ask and you shall receive.... pending payment
6. Withdrawn - just can't part with the beauty at the moment Full album here: https://www.dropbox....VYjWLvkXVwJpbMa It may be time to let go of my beloved Dingwall. I still love the tone, I still love the look, I still love the way it plays and money permitting I'd hang onto it, but my ageing tendons and stubby fingers are starting to feel the strain of a 37" low B and 18.5mm string spacing, so I'm looking for something probably shorter scale and skinnier spacing. OK to be honest I'm looking for the Roscoe LG 5 that the guy who was in Bass Direct half an hour before me bought (and I briefly, jealously played), but I think he'll probably be hanging onto it for a while. In the meantime looking for either sale to fund similar, or if anyone is looking to move the other way to the dark side of fan frets and a truly thunderous low B (it honestly stomps over anything else I've played, including the Roscoes) a trade with whatever funds are mutually agreeable to match up differences. It has a truly gorgeous maple flame top with a trans-black burst (looks a little purple in the pictures but less so in real life), and alder body, maple neck and wenge fretboard. The Dingwall card says 7lb 14oz, which is stupidly light for a 5, and it is also well balanced. The FD3s are stupidly powerful for passives and a wide variety of tones available - this has the older configuration with switch that does a kind of scooped mid cut. Unfortunately does have one small ding on the bottom horn (see picks) and a tiny scratch on the bottom, but otherwise clean. Comes with a fitted SKB Freedom case I'm still not sure I want to sell it, I may regret this....... £1600 as a starter?
7.
Oh are they? I thought they looked very similar but it was just a coincidence. Now I'm VERY intrigued. Read nothing but good things about Handbox so yeah, anyone local to Bass Direct some reviews would be great
Bass Direct is in my home town (very dangerous) and I'm probably going to put some money down on the rather lovely Elwood multi-scale I tried earlier this week. Will ask to have a go on one of the amps if I get a chance. Now if someone can just buy the EBS combo I'm trying to move on......
8. This seems to feel more like a double bass than the NXTs - which have a very low action. It naturally is a bit higher and the neck is a chunkier. Currently I think the middle string clearance at the 12th fret equivalent is about 7 or 8mm (haven't got calipers to properly check) and it'll go quite a bit higher than this. I've only ever played it pizzicato and you can definitely get a slap on it.

Sure you could get a replacement but never got round to it as I mostly leave the on switch on. Full set of pics here show this https://www.dropbox....6aEVXeAK5dEkeXa Otherwise mint - haven't even taken on the protective plastic on the top, comes with original box, manual and special leads. Lovely piece of kit, but I just don't use it enough in the bands I'm currently in £330 including postage

Makes a great noise and looks cool, but my fingers are too short and I succumbed to the lure of a Rob Allen. Mostly in good nick but sometime in its life before it came to me it had a ding on the bottom right where some of the finish has come away. Every time I go to get this out of the gig bag it is huge in my imagination, but when I take it out I go "oh, is that it? thought it was much worse". It's only about a square centimetre or so. Otherwise a couple of minor scratches but nothing significant, it has never affected the way it plays or sounds. A full set of photos can be found here https://www.dropbox....12QdpcK81Y49P8a (note - no it won't come with the Double Four amp!) It comes with the NS Designs gig bag and the standard tripod stand. In addition I'm throwing in the NS Endpin stand, (around £120 new now), which I think is much more natural in use. Currently has a nearly new set of NS contemporary flatwound light strings on it, there is also a set of still perfectly fine traditionals (I think, it was a while back) in the box that will be winging their way to the new owner. £550 ONO all in Would prefer collection as it's long, heavy and stick-like but can post.
11. Reduced to £150 including postage... You know you want to..
12.
Just trying to work out if Ive space under my bed for this to sit in its case......
the bed is nearly at ceiling height here
13. SOLD EBS Classic Session 60 requiring a new home as I thin out a few items. Fantastic practice / small gig amp which is louder than you think it's going to be and has some tones that are right up there with some much larger more expensive rigs. Has a few minor scuffs on the tolex but nothing significant, otherwise it good condition with no unwanted noises. Only moving this on to make some space as I've moved to an even weenier Phil Jones practice amp. Now £150 *including postage*. Based in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire
14. Absolutely mint condition Overwater Aspiration Elite 4 string lined fretless, beautiful top and lovely to play. These were made by Tanglewood to Overwater specs, but made to be 'off the peg' rather than the full handmade spec. The original RRP of this was £849. Bought it a few years back new from Bass Direct, but has mostly sat in it's case under the bed as shortly afterwards I got an unexpected windfall and ended up with a Rob Allen. Have been meaning to move it on but never got around to it, criminal as it's a really nice bass and a bargain for the money. Has never been gigged, comes with a TGI gig bag. Would prefer to meet to as don't have hard case but can discuss shipping. Based in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire £350 ono * now including postage * Been asked for a bit more info about this as there's not a huge amount online; Active electronics - volume with pull for bright, blend, 3 band EQ, Overwater soapbar pickups, generic Gotoh type machineheads, big chunk of Overwater metal at the bridge end. Weighs 9lb 4oz but well balanced so doesn't feel that much on a strap. 34" scale, neck skinny at 1 9/16 " width at the nut but fairly round profile (not Telecaster baseball bat though!) , string spacing at the bridge 2 1/4". Also note (as you can see from the pics) this is the thru-neck version. Some of them had bolt-ons. NOTE - measurements subject to me being a dolt not able to use a tape measue
15. Hi - gorgeous looking beast, do you have any sound samples of the pickup sound vs piezo? I have a Rob Allen Mouse so know the general piezo sound his basses has but am looking to get the best of both worlds in one bass and yours looks like it could be it Cheers, Nick
16. As the topic says, for sale (not looking for trades), my 2009 Fender American Standard Jazz in candy apple red Comes with Fender hard case, strap, truss rod tools and all the other stuff that was in the case when I bought it from PMT in Birmingham in (roughly) October 2009. No dings, very light buckle rash and one very minor scratch on rear by lower horn (see photo), otherwise mint. Currently has a fairly new set of La Bella strings on it. Been kept in the case when not used and lightly gigged. Only reason she has to go is I've got myself a Dingwall and frankly can't justify keeping her (that and a big MOT repair bill) £650 collected from Leamington Spa, will post for £25
