5. Yeah it will definitely be second hand. I bought the TC rig off here and all the other amps I have had have been second hand. I have had enough of buying gear new and loosing money on it to last a life time I think of Markbass being out of my budget so haven't payed them much attention really. I know its good stuff but I don't where it falls tonally
6.
Yup. Ashdown mag 300 EVO II 1x15" versus an Ashdown mag 300 (not EVO) 2x10"
The mag 300 has no compressor the mag300 evo2 has. Ive had both and i preffered the evo2. I had the 2x10 combo and a 1x15 ext
7. I sold my old Asdown rig a while back ( mag 300 evo2 2x10 combo and a home made 1x15 cab) Mainly because it was getting on a bit and i wanted to upgrade. So i bought a Tc electronics BH500 head and two BC212 cabs off here. Now it looks great and is light compared to the ashdown stuff but sound wise it doesnt do it for me. It doesnt move the air the way the ashdown did and i miss that oomph! So the tc stuff has sold on here and will be collected very soon so i have to get a replacement rig. Obviously i am inclined to return to Ashdown maybe getting ABM gear but the question is what other gear out there would provide the same sort of oomph that i am used to? Sorry for the lack of tecnical terms to describe the sound i am after? There are not many shops in the tyne and wear area who have enough bass gear to allow me to have a try and hear for mysef. As a guide my price range is about £500-£600 Cheers
8. Wow the zoom pedal must be good to get rid of that lot. Im trying to the exact opposite! i have a Zoom B1X and it sucks the life out of my tone. Its the only effects ive had where the flanger goes down in volume with the flange effect. How good is the B3?
9. Hi, Im based tyne and wear I would prefer to sell as a complete set up. Cheers
10. I have for sale my TC Electronics rig. BH500 Head 2X BC212 Cabs Rock solid covers for the head and each cab Leads and instruction manual All in excellent condition. The cabs have a couple of marks off the rubber feet when putting together but other than that they're as good as new. This is a great rig, looks fantastic and is really light. I'm looking for around £525 for the complete rig. As for trade similar value head and cabs or combo and extension minimum 300w full trade or part ex considered. Cheers
11. I have a Peavey Grind bass long scale 24 frets I purchased a set of D'addario EXL170 Long scale strings a few month back. All strings were fine apart from the E string which was short. By Short I mean where the winding reduced in diameter this was in the middle of the first fret rather than beyond the nut as the other strings. I took the strings back to the store and replaced with another set. Again D'addario but in a lighter gauge. I had exactly the same problem. (The store only had D'addrio strings or I would have chose another brand) So for the past few months I have been playing with a set of new strings and my old E string still in place. Well the old E string gave up the ghost last night. Fortunately at a rehearsal. so i need a new set again. First question is have the Daddario strings been faulty? Second question what strings can i buy confident in the knowledge that when they arrive they will all fit my bass? Cheers
