Great bass and review. I had the pleasure of playing this when it was for sale in the Netherlands
Two details.
- I think this is not an Update model, but an Celinder P Classic. these are Celinders passive basses ment to duplicate the magic of very early Fenders, were the Update is more like a 70'ies on steroids bass.
- The Pickups is a SD Antiquity II, as I was told. Quite standard for a Classic model. -
Some interest, but no takers yet.
Feel free to make me a offer.... ^_^ -
I love these lollipop tuners!
Good luck with the sale... -
Please send me an email if you are interested.
I can't go that low (especially with the current value of the GBP) but maybe we can work something out. -
Thank you very much!
The pictures don't do it justice. I make terrible pictures with my worthless HP camera... -

As a previous owner of this bass, I must give it a bump...
It plays great, and is very light for a Wal.
Only a few of these Wal midi basses were made, so get it while you can. The seller is also a standup guy, and great bassplayer
...So don't hessitate. -
Bass stays in my home for a while...

Hi Thanks for asking...
As I wrote earlier the previous owner who had it for a brief period cleaned all the hardware..... So the hardware looks very shiny on the surface but under the bridge and around the tuners it's still looks old, the neckplate is also very scratched.....
I've been told that this bass was owned by a punkbassplayer in the eighties, so maybe he made the scratch on purpose? Or as with alot of old basses, it just has damage (made contact with a cymbal). I have seen alot of pre-cbs basses without the original logo, because it was very easily removed or damaged, with the nitro finish to protect it.
Feel free to pm me for further questions, detailed pictures etc.
I've put alot of time in checking all the details on this bass, and all hardware, logo, codes, serialnumbers etc. are periodcorrect. Hope this answers your questions.
BTW!.....
This bass is on hold for the weekend.... -
All Pm's replied to.

Celinder Classic P (2002)

The adonized pickguard is not standard on a P Classic, just something you can choose.
You might be right on the yellow-isch neck, although I heard some years ago Celinder changed the finish on all his neck to some darker transparant colour.
They are custom basses, so you can choose anything you want. The Celinders in shops seem to be mostly 5 string Updates in blue or just an Ash body.
