  1. Are the eb150 and 180 really loud enough to play with a loud drummer? I like ashdown amps was looking at the 5 15 mini but its too underpowered I was thinking of getting a red sub or Harley Benton promethean clone a second hand eb is looking tempting though, thanks for mentioning them, will add to my list

  2. It's a shame as I always see stuff I like that is pick up only and it is never where I live, BTW did anyone buy a white headless bass on ebay today, it was a riverside, I had a snipe going just before it finished at about £127 it eventually went at £142 I couldn't justify going any higher shame though as it was white like my others something about a white bass, I should have gone a bit higher as the hard/flight case looked worth £50

Last week I sold my Zon Legacy fretless on Ebay.
I posted the bass off to the buyer Wednesday & he received it Thursday. I hear nothing from the buyer until Friday night when, only after my contacting him, he informs me that the bass is buzzing unacceptably & the he feels the fretline markers are a different radius to the fingerboard & this is causing the problem.

I've had this bass for years & have never had any trouble at all with it so find it hard to believe that something so catastrophic has suddenly happened to it. I have offered him a refund if he returns the bass to me but now say that he intends to get a luthier to look at it on Monday.

I've notified Ebay that the buyer thinks there is a problem even though it was in a perfectly playable state when I posted it & that I've offered him a refund.

I've just got a bad feeling about it, like I'm going to be hit with a make-believe repair bill just so the guy can try & get some money off me.

I really don't need sh*t like this at the moment, my life is enough of a nightmare as it is.
[/quote] Ebay dont give an ess haitch one tee, as long as they get their final value fees, i's a nightmare all these people running scams, Ive had trouble when selling cameras before, they buy it now then you never hear from them again

  4. I sold a motorbike a month or two and the guy who bid it up and won never showed up, he had previous form for doing it as he had done it with a few cars including an MG and a alfa romeo I got left with a final value fee and had to go through loads of rigmarole to claim it back. annoying thing is when ebay have refunded my final value fee before they refund it to your account which means all you can do with it is use it to sell stuff on ebay which is a bit useless if you are short of cash and only sell when you need to get some money. also it is hard to leave neg feedback for the guy, the previous victims had left warnings in the positive feedback section as you dont have the option for negative until you have gone through even more rigmarole, it sucks, i still use it though as it is invaluable for buying and selling rare and regular items.

  5. This version of Eleanor rigby is fascinating, I must admit I like a lot of the stuff he did for the Peanut's Charlie brown cartoons like Linus and Lucy and the peanuts christmas album, his music in general seems to have that signature sound.

Im having a job embedding the video,

  6. Ive seen some sort of home brew 3d printer somewhere I think they filled it up with some sort of sugar or something instead of the usual stuff, it was like some sort of MIT type of homebrew contraption, not much use but an interesting experiment

  7. I sometimes get it if it has something of interest in it like interview with a player Im interested in or a review of some piece of kit, I do prefer to read hard copy magazines, also like somebody said on here I enjoy reading my old magazines, I am a great fan of Guitar world in the mid to late 80s as it focused on a lot of bands i was interested in and had great features nd the letters page was awesome with people arguing over why player was superior to player B which made for fun readiing like forums on the net, it,s not very interesting now and I rarely buy it. I would buy the drum magazines if they had good interviews in them, I have really enjoyed the special put out by rhythm magazine called 100 drum heroes, I have seen some of these book/azines done for guitar, does anyone know if they have done a bass one? 100 bass heroes would be a superb read, I find I read stuff like this over and over again. I enjoy reading the old Bassist magazines I am going to have to try to score some old ones on ebay, I notice though that the prices some people charge are a bit OTT now, I hate having to pay through the nose for mags i have mistakenly thrown out in the past, some fetch £11 or £12 now on ebay. Old magazines are invaluable for preserving that time machine feel that you are still in the mid 80s hehe.

  8. i have a dyslexia thing where i mix up steely dan and the doobie brothers, dont know why, anyway the songs I like are ,listen to the music, reelin in the years and do it again. I think skunk baxter played in both bands which probably added to my confusion

  9. I couldn't find a biography book on ebay, which is a shame as I'm sure it would make a great read. Im reading a mag/book from smiths at the moment called 100 drum heroes which is very good.

  10. I had a copy of guitar and bass magazine (I think that was it) around 2003 and it had a free dvd one of the tracks was him and band playing one of his hits live and he had a bass with blue l e d fretmarkers. i think he was playing lessons of love will have to see if i can find it on youtoob
