I guess it could be my single jazz pickup? in terms of tone. I'm not keen on valve amps, i've had a soundcity 120B and its lovely but not exactly for me. Plus i use about 30% clean sound so i need to have that of being able to go back to crisp and delicate... if ya get me.... a DHA has always appealed to me, how far gain can they go? would anyone care to share some soundclips?

i basically want to sound like Kurt Ballou ( guitarist fom converge) but on bass. preferably not really expensive. Preferably no bass loss. i want a pedal that also feedsback nicely as apposed to squeal annoyingly which my current distortion does right now. no fuzzes. I play a lot of chords and i need the sound to be still detailed but heavy as hell. has anyone got any pedal recomendations? cheers, Matt

^^ this is the main reason i think. plus cheaper pedals can't hurt.

How would i go about doing this? i've just sent a very up myself email with pictures and music to EHX. i basically copied my friend's email he used to get endorsements but his achievements were a lot better than mine so i feel like i have no chance. theres a ridiculous amount of small metal/hardcore bands that get endorsed as soon as they spawn. i want in. thanks, Matt

there isnt another option. its an american convert though so i'm not sure whats going on.

ok on closer inspection, when turned on the transformer overheats, the sizzling sound is some stuff thats coming out of it (glue maybe?) i think i know why this is.

yeah its second hand. haha sh*t. i just opened it up and theres a completly blackened component. i still have another one though so that'll do for now. but i guess i'll have to take it to an amp tech...

the other day i recieved 2 Peavey Mark 3 heads in the post. i've been very happy with them, they're plenty loud and just the right sound for me. however today i was just playing along, not loud at all but suddenly one of the amps starting feeding back making almost oscillation noises. it then cut out and all i could hear was sizzling coming from the amp. what could it be? i hope its not too serious i'm just rather angry as i sold my soundcity because i wanted something that wasn't so delicate, something that was a complete workhorse and after only two days this bugger has decided to call it a day! always super helpful, really patient while i waited for the money to come through and when it did he sent it really quickly! of course kudos to him again for selling awesome stuff aswell!
