1. David bought my Lakland JO5. A pleasure to deal with, he made the whole deal very easy, even arranging the courier himself. Great communication and no problems whatsoever, DMX
 2. Bass still for sale - I've had a tentative offer but the guy needs to sell a bass first, so if anyone has the money available now then the bass is theirs. I'm not interested in trades btw, as I need the cash.
 3. I'm putting my JO5 back up for sale now I have a bit more time to organise things. Delivery is now no problem, plus a small price drop. I bought the bass new about 5 years ago, and the serial number suggests a 2005 build so it's an original Korean spec with the Fralin pickups. I've also upgraded it with a push-pull tone knob for series/parallel switching and a black 3-ply pickguard made by SIMS (original mint white PG will be included in the sale). I would describe the condition as well-played but well looked after. For much of the time I've owned it it's been my only bass, so it's been played pretty much every day and has therefore picked up a bit of wear - no major knocks, but some light surface scratches/hazing and a few tiny dents on the back and bottom. The control plate also has a few scratches. I've tried to show the general condition in the photos attached, and I think have done a decent job. The frets also show it's been played but are not worn to any great extent. The only other thing worthy of note is a slight rough patch on the back of the neck where the finished doesn't seem to have smoothed out through playing as much as the rest of the neck. I don't notice it when I'm playing but thought it should be mentioned. I will also include an SKB hardcase in the sale, and am looking for £600 collected from Oxford or £620 delivered. Bass weighs around 4.5kg for those interested. Any questions then feel free to ask, David
 4. The bass is still available for sale with both pickguards, and if bought in the next week I can get it couriered if required. After that there might be a bit of a delay if you need it delivered. I've also weighed it and it comes in at around 4.5kg
 5.
Hm, Toasted told me that the Depth Charge doesn't work with active. Could you recommend a similar pedal that does? (I mean a smooth, thick fuzz that doesn't sound separated from the original signal - that's what I thought about the Depth Charge from samples anyway)
I realise this is a fairly ancient thread, but I used to own a Depth Charge and used it with both active and passive basses and it sounded pretty much the same on both - like probably the most awesome fuzz ever. I regret selling it very much. So although I've heard of it many times, I guess I've never really known what people mean when they say a fuzz won't 'work' with active basses. Anyone more knowledgeable able to explain? And anyone know where I can get a DC for cheap?!
 6. No, it's an earlier model so hasn't been plekked like the latest ones. I'd really prefer collection since I'll find it difficult to arrange a courier in the next few weeks, but if you're prepared to pay for shipping I can look into it.
fully interested, is that been pleked? is a shipping possible? thanks
7. It is with much regret that I'm having to sell my Skyline JO 5-string to help fund my final year at university. I bought it new about 5 years ago, and the serial number suggests a 2005 build so it's an original spec with the Fralin pickups. I will also include an SKB hardcase in the sale, and am looking for £650. I would prefer pick up from Oxford or Banbury as arranging posting could be a bit tricky, but will consider it if necessary. I'll also consider personal delivery or meeting halfway if it's not too far. Any questions then feel free to ask, David
 8. Cheers guys. I think it took me longer to write the ad than it did for the cab to sell!
 9.
F**k a duck . This is an absolute steal . Doubt this'll last long .
It hasn't! On hold, pending etc.
 10. I've finally made the decision to let my Epifani 410 go - a Series I with the original B&C drivers. It's a fantastic cab, but I'm not playing gigs at the moment so it's way beyond my requirements, and I could do with releasing the cash. If you're on these boards then I'm sure you know the reputation of these cabs so I won't go on and on, but just to say this is a very clear and articulate cab with tonnes of bottom end. With the horn turned up it can sound very hi-fi, but with it down or off it gets a much more traditional sound. I've used it for rock and metal with excellent results (even if I do say so myself). This is an 8 ohm cab, but it's capable of such massive volume that I don't think that should put you off if you're after a 1 cab solution. I've been using it with a Trace V4 (200w valve amp) and never had the master past 4, putting out just under 200w if you believe the "output indicator" valve. I bought the cab 2nd hand about 5 years ago when it was in pristine condition. Since then it's done 20ish gigs and a handful of rehearsals, but also moved house a few time and so has picked a little cosmetic damage. As you will see from the photos, there are a couple of scratches on the nameplate and corner protectors and a few of the screws are a bit corroded. There are also one or two tiny paint chips on the grill, and you'll also notice a gap on the covering on the back of the cab. As far as I can tell it's always been like this, and the material is still well stuck down. It's in perfect working order. Given the not quite perfect condition and the slightly less sought-after 8 ohm rating, I'm after £400 collected from Banbury, Oxfordshire. I think this is a very fair price so am not open to offers. I will, however, consider delivering within 25 miles or so of Banbury or Brackley (where I work), so PM me to discuss if you'd require this. If you want any more info or opinions then let me know. Specs from Epifani website are below, and thanks for looking. 11.
I am also intrigued! How heavy is it?
Me too! How loud is it? Is it particularly efficient do you know?
 12.
You mustn't use Epi cabs with valve power amps or all-valve heads.
This issue has come up several times before, so I e-mailed Epifani about it and they updated their FAQ: Q: I have heard that using a tube power amp can damage Epifani drivers - is that true? A: "Apparently there was some confusion regarding my generalized statement on the use of tube power amps and speakers. Let me clear this up once and for all. Basically, a speaker cone can break up in two ways as the wave forms emanate off the speaker - Axially and Conically. As the wave form moves out along the cone of the driver the wave can broken by the subtle twisting of the cone itself. That is referred to as “Conical Break-up mode”. “Axial Break Up mode” happens when the cone stops moving like a piston and begins to flex axially from the voice coil to the top of the cone. Due to the low damping factor of most tube power amplifiers, there is less control over the driver than with most modern solid state or digital amps. Less control means a greater excursion of the driver and more opportunities for the driver to break up either Axially or Conically. The net result of that effect manifests itself in the overall wear and tear of the driver. The lifespan of the driver will be shorter - how much shorter depends on how rigorously the speaker is used. So what does this mean to a working bass player? Basically if you run any rig within some common sense parameters it will work fine for years. Use and abuse a rig and it will get damaged. We strongly suggest that you experiment with our products and anyone else\'s in pursuit of \"your\" tone. Our cabinets work fine with tube power amps and we have a history of players who love these cabinets and use them in conjunction with their tube power amps. " FWIW, I use a Epi 410UL (Series I) with a Trace v4 all-valve head without any problems, and it sounds fantastic. I also think there is some debate as to whether valve amps inherently have less damping than SS amps or not.
