1.
Hi mate
Are the dots on the side of the neck (i.e. on top when you play it) in line with the fretlines or between them? If the former consider me interested

Oh dear........check the last picture carefully! Bummer!

Having swapped my JD fretless for a Status 5 I'm bloody gassing for another fretless. The fretless thread has got me going on this. Only 3-4 songs in my bands set for it but......if by any chance this is around next month I may have a shot.
Good luck with the sale......oh and.................BUMP!

  2.
Well, thought I should have one of these threads.

So was it good for you as well? :)
It was good for me! Mega quick turnaround on some strings a bought from Tom. Pleasure to do business with you mate!
    Thanks
    Colin.

  3. Went to Go West in the midlands with an ex who was a big fan especially of Peter Cox. Stopped at services on the way back and Peter and Richard Drummie turn up just as shes using the coffee machine. Cue Peter to go over and help her press ONE button she had to press to get the drink while she gawped at him. Speechless and melted on the floor was how it looked.

Did some stuff in rehearsal that was mixed by our keyboard player, all put in dry and live to his recording gear with no overdubs so essentially it comes out as it is in rehearsal with a bit of reverb etc. Also some photos of the band, wide view lens for the bass player...LOL!

  6.
Hi Folks

There's been a few people mentioning bringing drummers & kits along which is great.. But although it's a big venue, we will need to make sure that any plans to have drums/drummers on the day are carefully worked out, otherwise, i think it could get a bit out of hand.

So I'll draw up a list of people who've either offered to bring or have mentioned drummers so that we can work out how it could work beforehand.. And I'll PM everyone on the list directly - does that sound OK?

    Cheers

    Nik
Watch out the Gitards will be getting in on the act too!! :)

Put me down.........Status Series1, and possibly me Hartke 3500 although I'm guessing there will be plenty to plug in to.

Yogi, Pooh, Paddington? More to the point what did you do with the "free bear"?

You didn't put it on the BBQ did you?

  8. Played the first two gigs with my band Asylum Affair on friday and saturday. Friday was The Plough, Crawley, not many there but those that were enjoyed. We play some classic rock and pop, five piece with girl singer and have been together from about February but due to various circumstances had not got a massive amount of rehearsals in. Had 3 booked in the weeks before first gig but only managed to do the last one on Thursday which included 4 new songs to try. To be honest we played a blinder, minimal mistakes and the first full band gig for the singer who normally does solo stuff with DAT back up.
Saturday was the Foresters in Forest Row near E.Grinstead. Funny little place, got there at 7.30ish and most of the punters there were already pissed which was worrying. Still we set up and cracked on, singer got given a bunch of flowers at half time which was bizarre but got a good laugh from us all and again despite the minimal rehearsal time we pretty much cracked it. A lot were sat in the smoking area just off the main room but were clapping and cheering from out there. I would post some pics but my mates i-phone camera is crap and they were rubbish....Doh, should have lent him my N95.
These were the first gigs with my rig and it totally kicked ass.......Hartke HA3500+Ashdown 1x15/2x10 set to volume 2!! and almost too loud!

    Onwards and upwards

  9. Thanks guys! It went really well, hardly a noticeable mistake and it all gelled nicely. It was the singers first gig with a full band, she normally does solo, and she kicked ass. Not many punters but those there had a boogie and we got some good feedback afterwards. Oh and we got paid too, Yay!

  10. My band Asylum Affair have our first two gigs this weekend. We play classic rock and pop, 5 piece with girl singer. At the Plough, Three Bridges, Crawley tonight and the Foresters, Forest Row, East Grinstead tomorrow. Totally under rehearsed as last two rehearsals got cancelled and 4 songs to learn got done last night! So should be a bit of a blast. Will report back how they went, if anyones around pop up and say hi to the bass playing rabbit in the headlights.
