1.
The original is an absolute classic. The Glee version is Sh*te. It's yet another example of the pop machine taking a classic tune and ruining it.
Were thinking of covering it. got a female singer so range isn't an issue :)
Got a girly singer too so not a problem. About 6 months ago I suggested this song and it got put in the list of to-dos, then Glee came along and bang it's in. We do Alone by Heart and bugger me it turns up in Glee too! So a few weeks ago we decide to do More Than a Feeling-Boston and bugger me it turns up in an advert!!

Bugger me!!

oh, i did once hear that flea used super-glue to fill in the hole in his thumb.
could just be an urban myth, but i have heard of it used in injury treatment.
What Superglue was invented for IIRC!

3. Trying to help a friend sell her clarinet. She's a semi-pro and knows her stuff and really looks after her instruments. Drop me a PM if you have an interest and I'll get your details to her. She's in SE London.
Here's the blurb that she sent about it.

"Buffet E11 Bb clarinet in excellent condition. Bought new about three years ago and used only as my spare for the last year due to an upgrade to a pro-level instrument.

E11s are Buffet's intermediate level instrument (the step between student and pro instruments), and suitable for players of all levels; they're recommended for improving players by music teachers because of their easy response and accuracy, excellent intonation, light responsive keywork and lovely warm tone.

Specs:

* Unstained African blackwood
* Silver-plated keywork
* Ergonomic key design
* Stainless steel springs
* 17 Keys and 6 rings
* Undercut toneholes
* Adjustable thumbrest
* Double fish skin pads

Keywork is untarnished, the wood is in great condition with no cracks or chips and all the pads seal well. Plays responsively across all registers with all the usual Buffet precision. Intonation is spot on and the hard case is in much better condition than the flash on the camera would have you believe ;-)

I'll throw in a box of 1.5 reeds (good for beginners), the stock Buffet mouthpiece and a new Windcraft Etude mouthpiece which is more suitable for students or players using a lower reed strength.

Looking for as close to £400 as possible, but open to sensible offers."

4.
Hi there - do you remember ABC music in Addlestone ? Whatever happened to it I wonder....

Cheers, Simon
Only been in Addlestone a couple of months and in the area for about 6 years. I don't tend to do local shops much, Andertons a few times and Tony Nova. There was a little shop almost opposite the station that I kept meaning to pop in to but it disappeared last year some time. Apart from that it tends to be buy and sell on the forum. Once you pop you just can't stop!

just thinking further on this. There is an issue around holding a bash local to London. The congestion charge zone.

two factors spring to mind straight away.

1. Car friendly would be helpful for sure for those intending to bring equipement. Locations outside the congestion zone would help reduce cost associated with car use, which could encourage attendence.

2. As already mentioned, it would be desirable to be local to public transport, which does hint at the burbs.

Leyton does fit the bill for both 1 + 2. A good start.

It's early days though and other folk may have different preferences. I'm easy personally and would be happy to travel

Sure there a lot more things to cover yet

A big THANK YOU to everyone for the interest

No congestion charge at weekends!

6. Welcome Mal,

Good to meet you last week, nice bit of Bernard you played on that MM Sub you got, you need to ditch the keys mate and get back on the bass! :)
I'm really enjoying the Squier you sold me, can't wait to gig it, thanks!

See ya soon
Colin

7.
Glad you're enjoying the bass, Col! Yes, 'tis the very same Mal here. That was one of four basses I sold in two weeks - my Washburn Status had gone at lunchtime the same day.
Hey Mal, welcome to the forum. Watch out for the GAS, it's lethal on this place! Thanks for a cracking bass.

8. Had a flying visit from James for him to pick up a couple of cabs. Thanks for braving the M25 (Herts to Surrey)on a Saturday morning. Hope the cabs are ok for you. Top bloke to deal with, good comms and a bundle of cash too!

Cheers
Colin

9.
Yeah, that'll sound sweet on Tears in Heaven. I found with the treble rolled off, and picked very close to the end of the neck a passable upright tone could be had.

Cheers!
James
Oh yeah man, you got it! Its got a lovely sweet spot right there. Ive only put it through my Pandora so far but it still sounds great. Its got round wounds on it so if you dig in near the bridge it honks for Jaco! I'm not rehearsing the band until the new year so I might book a local room for some solo fettling as I got my Acme B2 delivered today.

10.
Now, where have I seen one of those before - ah yes, that's right, I had one for about 0.3 seconds!

Reading this makes me regret getting rid of it, but I've gotta say I'm an average fretted played at best, fretless is a step too far!

Great GAS!
I saw your one go up but I was about 2 days away from some money coming in and never imagined that the one on local gumtree would still be around. To be honest we only have 3/4 songs for it but we may do Tears in Heaven by Clapton and that song crys out for it. Ive just got to do it justice though :)

11.
Prepare to be severely punished boy!

Nice one Kol! These are superb basses, the ebonol board does the biz - honk and much mwah!

Ciao!

Nick O Twa nkey!
Punish me Big Boy!!

Great little bass and at a great price to. Just got to set up some nice sounds on my pedal, chorus octave etc and I'm well away.

Hows that Jaydee coming along? Looking forward to seeing the end result.

12. Got a single speaker solution on the way so have to get rid of these bad boys.
You probably know the specs, 300watt and 8 ohms each so plenty of balls. I got these from Monz at last years Guildford Bass Bash for a very keen price and I'm pricing these to sell. Now the tweeter on the 2x10 started to crackle a bit so I removed it. I'm hoping to sell both together and it's definitely going to be a collection job.
Bearing in mind I only paid a ton for these and the tweeter is out I'm thinking £90 for the pair collected would seem a good price.
They are in storage at the moment (Big Yellow) so a definite time would have to be arranged and I'm not sure whether I can plug them in there so they would probably have to be sold unheard as I don't have any playing space where I live (thank feck for Pandora). Both are in good working condition, just a little cat rash on the carpet covering!
