  1. I had this happen sending a very precious transitional Steinberger XL2 to Sweden. The courier misread the house number on the package and handed it over to a different address at the other end of the same road. It was all OK in the end but there was a fair bit of nail biting involved. Hope it all sorts out...

  2. Hello all

I have a couple of old six string sets of Elites 'Stadium Series' strings. Unused/new in slightly tatty boxes. They were acceptably fresh sounding when I last used a set.

They're stainless steel and I would call them medium lights at 25-40-60-80-100-125

Not sure what to price them at so I thought a trade for a couple of sets of 4 STRING nickel wounds in the vein of DR sunbeams or what have you could work?

    Cheers, Nickimage1.thumb.jpeg.8c38688145881aa7b560851a514a1709.jpeg

  3. I had a gorgeous 78 4001 that was lovely to play. It suffered from a mild lack of beef in the low end which was shame. Had another V63 that was a lot thumpier (esp with flats) but the neck was never happy.

I really like Rics but have yet to find the right one. The thing I found about them was that they make you play in a very different way. It's the subtly shorter scale length and the narrow/parallel feel to the neck which is so unusual. Someday I want to bring the right late 70s or early 80s jetglo 4001 into the fold or even a later V63.

Also, always played mine with a pick. They're just utterly cool instruments in my book.

  4. I've owned Nash and Bravewood relics.

There was a time (2006/7) when a Nash was a good deal in that it was an assembly of good quality parts put together by someone who knew what they were doing with a vibey nitro job and tarnishing etc But they are very much parts instruments (I had a J bass and a Telecaster). I would never consider paying the prices being asked for them new (or second hand nowadays) based on my past experience. They're fine for what they are but nothing special.

Bravewoods are in another class altogether. Stunning instruments in my experience. Totally different from the Nash instruments.

Would like to try a Limelight someday as they look like excellent value.
