  1. I always dread these moments.

Im happy enough playing to people and acting like a tit at crazy loud volumes on a stage, but in a quiet little shop with a few people around, I get pretty nervous. Whenever I pick up a bass, my mind just goes blank. It's like there's pressure on that you have to play something really good, but you dont want to over do it incase you look arrogant...or the fact you just dont know anything good in the first place but you're trying to hide it...

I hope thats not just me!

What do you guys play when you pick up a bass in store? Some favoured songs/riffs? A little play on scales? Or just some full on awsomeness?!

  2. Wow, £2099 is a lot of money.

I've been having a look over on Talkbass and ebay, but these basses just dont seem to come up too often. Looks like I'll have to count my pennies a bit more.

  3. Ok, so my GAS has been building now over a Pedulla Rapture for about 2 years. My main problem is trying to find one, especially with the pickup configuration that im looking for. Im after the RB4 with the single soapbar, but the very few I keep finding seem to have 2 jazz pups, or it's a 5-string, or anything else not quite right.

Any suggestions on where I might be able to pick one up, or will I have to bite the bullet and buy one new for a ridiculous amount of money?

  4. Yeah, i havnt been to any gigs for a while now either. Maybe that is having an affect.

And i find it easier to write something when i have a purpose for it. ie, a band. Right now i'll sit here trying to put ideas together, but dont really have the enthusiasm for it.

  5. Ive been playing bass for around 6 years now, and for the first time i feel like im starting to lack inspiration. I pick up my bass and just...dont feel it. Its like im stuck in a "same old, same old" mind set. Dont get me wrong, I dont think I could ever give up playing bass! But I just seem a little empty at the moment. Maybe its due to stresses in real life (job searching, again!), maybe its because I havnt played in a band for years, maybe its because i havnt spent any savings on GAS for a good while! I just dont know.

Ive tried listening to songs/artists i normally wouldnt, to try and new learn things, but it just doesnt seem to be happening. Im not really having fun when i play anymore. It feels too repetitive. Has anyone else felt like this before? What do I dooo?!

I think a new bass might help :)

  6. What cables do you guys use for your pedalboards?

George L's seem to be the top ones around, but seem so expensive. Are there any alternatives out there, or are they pretty much untouchable? And what about these cable kits you can buy? Ive heard theyre prone to coming loose, but its a big plus to be able to make all cables to personal size.

Im still stuck with my cheapo cables from years ago, y'know, those nice brightly coloured ones.. I need some better ones a.s.a.p. but im looking around for the best options. Ive got quite a large pedalboard too, so lots of cables = lots of money. Damn it.

  7. This pedal is buggered. I was conned into it a bit, as i bought it second hand and couldnt get a refund or send it back. My fault for being careless when buying..

Anyway, theres pretty much no sound or response coming from this pedal. When the sensitivity and range knobs are turned up full, and i really attack my strings, you can kind of hear the effect before it dies out straight away. Apart from that, theres just nothing coming out of this pedal. Any ideas whats wrong?

Also, what kind of price range would i be looking at to get this repaired?

  8. I had a Behringer combo that i used just for home use, got it yonks ago due to limited budget. I had exactly the same problem with too much sub and a really muddy sound.

Its just Behringer i guess. You get what you pay for.
