I'm loving that one.
The colour on the headstock, and I'm assuming the neck, is fantastic.
Very aged white is my favourite, and cream p/u covers. Mojotastic! 😎

My sister sent me this... I didnt realise what I was about to hear. Its a wonderful record but good lord that groove at 4,40 mins... that is one of the most satisfying guitar solos (2 part) and groove sections ive ever heard that seems to go on and on, the galloping/ 16th note bass playing, the drumming is just amazing also..... just wow.
And that's just the short version 😉

While I like the finish... It does make me think of a very badly stained pub toilet.
Toiletburst 😂

Quite possibly the worst looking finish any manufacturer has ever come up with. Absolutely the most hideous colour combo burst, and then replicating it on the pickguard is another level of foul. Like watching someone be sick, and then eat it again.
It's not for me, if you were wondering. 😁

The only issue I can see is that carrying a leather Chesterfield is very awkward in a full length smoking jacket.

There's issues both ways with PayPal. As a buyer you only want to use payment for goods (or whatever they call it) to be covered, friends and family payment is like a bank transfer, no getting it back if anything goes wrong.
As a seller, they often don't want to accept PayPal 'payment for goods' as if the buyer is unscrupulous then they can dubiously claim for things like 'not as described' or damage.
Trust, or lack of, works both ways.
Where is the bass? Is there a BCer local who could collect it for you, give it the once over and stay with the seller while you bank transfer the money? Then you can arrange a courier to collect it from them.
I've been lucky enough that folks on here have done that a couple of times for me.

Boss Waza air for bass. Simples!
That's the only upgrade I can see to what I use now.
NUX Mighty Plug plugged into whatever bass suits, headphones into Mighty Plug, phone (music) bluetooth'd to Mighty Plug if needed.

Besides, you'll be glad you've still got the BEX when you sell me your Shergold. 😉

Cheers for this. I bought the exact same set a few months ago for £68 on Amazon. Probably won't change them for another decade or so. Might just get these and use on a four string.
I got a set to go on a four string as they're so cheap (only play 4's now), I might string one up BEAD though.

I'm surprised to see you're letting this one go. Fantastic basses.

Rickenbacker 4005V
in Bass Guitars
Posted
I have a luthier built 4005 (in my avatar) which is identical to a genuine one, even genuine RIC parts, so to the local scrote is the real thing. It's my regular gig bass at upmarket and rough as rats venues.
Why wouldn't you take a decent bass to a gig? Just look after it.
