They're fantastic basses and would make brilliant backup basses. In my head, I'm comparing them to the Ibanez SR500/505 and they absolutely blow the Ibanez out the water in so many ways, the most noticeable being that lovely B string.

It excels at adding an evenness to the tone without compromising tone but it's definitely one that you wouldn't wanna take past half-way. I don't often use the toneprints in my BH250 head but the Spectracomp is the one that I keep on.

I perhaps should have added this to my original reply but what does it weigh?

It's a wicked piece of kit but I already have one! Doesn't get used though, may have to put it up for sale.
