1. Still going to be looking into this as its so much dosh I have to take my time. Think it looks like I have nailed it down to: 1 Markbass 104HF I like the way it goes to 35Hz and slightly cheaper than most cabs 2 Epifani 104UL Seems like a really popular cab but a bit expensive 3 Schroeder 21012L a nice combination of speakers in one cab but a little pricey 4 Schroeder 410L good reviews but pricey 5 Bergantino EA410 similar to Epifani but a little cheaper I really did want a 6x10 but know that for a one man lift its too much. Also wondering what price would I be looking at for 2x Aguilar GS112 cabs in mint condition! Reason needing one cab that can be lifted by one man with bass on shoulder, be good enough to cut through a loud guitar driven band and has good bottom end. Thanks for all your help look forward to hearing your views Ash
2. Just reading this thread and am intrigued about the Roland Micro Cube RX, loved the spec of this little amp but then wattage 2.5 erm is this really loud enough even for bedroom practice?
3. Ahhh there it is.... drool. Glad you have broken it in at last.. now look into my eyes look into my eyes not around the eyes your under... you now want to sell this lovely cab to me. Nah I wish its a beaut. Do you know if you can buy Tech in this country anymore or as they are now Tecamp or something like that?
4. I think for me the Epi 410UL 4ohm is king for me at the moment, as it seems to tick most boxes, or I wish I had that Tech 6x10 I have seen on here, very neat. Them Schroeder 1212L seem unreal very nice cab, would love to give it a go especially if they did a 4ohm version, thats got to be the most compact gigging rig I have seen. cetera - I would snap your hand off at that price but I know the weight of that baby its got some great sound have played through one before and I am very shocked it hasn't sold. dave_bass5 - What do you prefer the Epifani cabs or Schroeder cabs?
5. Noisedude, I had that Behringer head as a back up to my Ashdown head a couple of years back, I lent it to a friend for a year who did around 80 gigs with it I also did 20 gigs with it between saving for next amp. It really was pretty good workhorse for me and good for a backup, I know there are a lot of bad comments on here about it , but maybe I was lucky, not much in the tonal area and also that damn awful boost button but I think you should be ok, but like we all say everyone is different. If you can afford it go for a Markbass Little Mark 2 Head they really are fantastic! I use an MB LMK which to me is so so good.
6. I did see that cab but would like to have a 4ohm to be honest, thanks for the heads up.
7. Does sound good, looks like I am following you on the one cab solution, not that the Aguilars are bad far from it, I just feel less trips to the car is always good. Still find it hard to believe that 3x10s is gonna cut the mustard but then again looking at all these reviews Epifani are doing something right. Wow Epifani 212 NYC must be very, very good!
8. Homer, I believe you used to have the same rig as me, 2x Aguilar 12 with Little Mark 2 Head, how did this rig compare to the Epifani 3x10 and did you use the Markbass head?
9. Hmmm I think maybe your right, 4x12 does sound good, can't believe you got rid of 2x 4x10 Tech cabs they must have been great. Its all a matter of: 4x12 Aggie - Cheaper but Heavier 4x12 Techs - Hard to get but Lighter Damn Bass GAS
10. Yes I use Aggies, I remember about 18 months ago it seemed the cab of choice, so I bought 2 of them, they are really great cabs, its so nice to have such a compact loud rig, but still I think I prefer having more speakers. So like you said a pair of 2x12 Aggie's would be an ideal choice, but then the weight factor etc etc oh damn seems like I want my cake and eat it lol. Maybe 6x10 would be good love the look of yours Dood or something like a Tech 4x12 being ultra light. I just never have found an all in one cab that has suited me yet, unless there is an Accugroove Whappo Jr floating about, now thats a cab I do like.
11. Thanks for that Dood, I think I see you have the Epifani 6x10 that must sound like a monster!!! My main worry was that being used to 12" Aguilars the 10" Marks would give less bottom end, I probably should drive down to Bass Merchants in my Norfolk Tractor to see what he has in store.
12. Has anybody tried one of these cabs, I am starting to think a 6x10 might be what I need and this cab might be a good match for my Mark Bass LMK Head. So Just wondering what does this cab sound like. Thanks
13. What does it sound like with the Aguilar GS112 NT? reason being I have 2x GS112 but wondered what another 12 would sound like.
14.
Epi UL 310 does it for me. IIRC about the same weight as an Aggie GS112 with horn. This cab is about as loud as you'll ever need.
But will 3x10's push out enough bottom end at volume? they look amazing cabs.
15. Hello First proper post with bass chat so hi, what I I would like is an all in one cab 30Kg or under and can handle large venues and gives good all round sound and decent bottom end. I have 2 x aggie 112s with Markbass LMK head, this rig is fine but prefer a 1 lift scenario. 18 months ago these were all the rage now reading these posts on here it seems 6x10 all in one cabs seem to be in favour. Do these handle a low B well? I used to have an Accugrrove Tri210 which was fantastic but I felt 2 of these would give great all round sound but still its too many lifts. Any ideas thanks... Ash
16. Hello everyone, Just come back to playing after 18 months out, searched for BW?!? but found this instead with lots of familiar names from whom I bought and sold so much gear to, anyways hopefully I am back again playing and having lots of gas for new gear. Will try not to ask too many questions but I know I will. Nice to be here, Ash
