C=car...........an estate car........big and roomy, sorted for lugging gear and fishing tackle. Is it a sign of age that I'm more excited about getting an estate car than If I was getting a sporty number. Roll on 2pm when I pick it up.
  10. No comment my bands called 'Donkey Hospital'

  12. if you plug in and switch on your new amp at rehersal, only to hear.......nothing......check you have not plugged your tuner into the headphone socket instead of of the tuner out socket. your new amp is make a fizzing noise promanent in the treble registers........if your bass is active, change the battery. Had both last night and got myself into a flap...wot a numpty Si
  13. But what is the best bass for metal, that is the eternal quest..........
  14. first gig I ever did many years ago in a country pub Rick and Maddy sat watching......no pressure there then fortunately i wasn't playing bass
  15. Nice one RK that is one of the most beautiful natural finishes I have ever seen, If this doesn't generate commisions for OW there is no justice in this world. I'm now racking my brain trying to justify and finance one myself. I'll have to sell the mother inlaw to white slavers mmmmmm now there's a thought.............
  16. Don't wait to long for the big unveil RK we're all on tenter hooks here.....
  17. I bet it's like being a kid waiting for Christmas, I'm afraid Martin will be delayed slightly this afternoon as I have a lesson booked after work, I'll try not to keep him to long.
  18. I speak to Martin every week, I have lessons with him I sooooo want an OW. Job situation a bit up in air at mo I'll have to wait a few weeks as there might be redundancies. It's a hard choice, a hand made OW or change my banger of a motor.....suppose I could just about get it through another MOT.
  19. Ive seen OW guitars crop up on ebay but they're rare as rare thing. You're bass looks the biz, Martin is a very talented guy. my next bass ambition is a hand made OW i'm a big fan.
  20. overwater have made guitars before I know someone with an OW strat.
  21. Gave my 5er it's public debut last night after a month practicing with it, loved it, it's nothing fancy just a cheap as chips Squier I got second hand, the one with the pair of really crappy jazz pups. But, after having a pair of SD quarter pounders fitted and changing the white scratch plate for a black 3ply one, it not only looks the biz (black on black) it sounds amazing. Rest of band say it's sounds better than my Tanglewater. I'm a convert .
  22. Wow and I thought I was doing well learning six new songs in a week to dep with another bands rehearsal tonight. I take my hat off to you
  23. Thanks for input folks, some very interesting answers to mull over. I feel a bit of reading up on my part is needed.....but not tonight I tired after a busy day at work capped of with another great lesson, both theory and practice :-) Si
  24. Why is it called theory. A theory suggests to me that how something happens or works is unknown but the available evidence suggests something or is a well informed educated guess. Music works to well known sets of rules and conventions (which I know can be broken in the right context i.e if it sounds right). I feel I am not studying a theory but rules guided by the laws of physics. I'm not losing any sleep over it but perhaps one of you in know could explain it to me as it's niggling the need to know splatnic ganglion cortox of my brain cheers Si
